Prayer Theme: Protection   (Groups A&C)

Bible:  Isaiah 57: 3 – 14

Book of Truth: 27 Oct 2011Thoughts: Our theme today was ‘Protection’. Many of us have been feeling the pressure of suffering and persecution.The Bible Reading reassured us today of how the wicked will be dealt with and the reward for God’s faithful people. It seemed so relevant to us and very reassuring.  God knows that  sometimes, we need a little reassurance and comfort to keep going.

The bible reading spoke about a people who are rebellious, deceitful,  who had no morals, and still dared to offer sacrifice! God’s answer to them was “With these things, should I be appeased?” Isaiah details their wickedness in God’s eyes. There are many strong words for these people: “When you cry out, let your collection of idols save you.”

At the end, though, there is a clear message for the faithful: “But whoever takes refuge in me shall inherit the land, and possess my holy mountain.”

The Book of Truth reading, talks of trials and sufferings. Jesus tells us how to deal with this and what measures will help. Every Christian today needs to hear these words. Jesus tells us : “I am with you.”

Isaiah 57: 3 -14

An Idolatrous People

3 But you, draw near, you children of a sorceress, offspring of an adulterer and a prostitute!
4 Against whom do you make sport, against whom do you open wide your mouth,

and stick out your tongue? Are you not rebellious children, deceitful offspring—

5 You who burn with lust among the oaks, under every green tree; You who immolate children in the wadies, among the clefts of the rocks?
6 Among the smooth stones of the wadi is your portion, they, they are your allotment; Indeed, you poured out a drink offering to them, and brought up grain offerings. With these things, should I be appeased?
7 Upon a towering and lofty mountain you set up your bed,

and there you went up to offer sacrifice.

8 Behind the door and the doorpost you set up your symbol.

Yes, deserting me, you carried up your bedding; and spread it wide.

You entered an agreement with them, you loved their couch, you gazed upon nakedness.

9 You approached the king with oil, and multiplied your perfumes;

You sent your ambassadors far away, down even to deepest Sheol.

10 Though worn out with the length of your journey, you never said, “It is hopeless”; You found your strength revived, and so you did not weaken.
11 Whom did you dread and fear,that you told lies,

And me you did not remember nor take to heart?

Am I to keep silent and conceal, while you show no fear of me?

12 I will proclaim your justice and your works;

but they shall not help you.

13 When you cry out, let your collection of idols save you.

All these the wind shall carry off, a mere breath shall bear them away;

But whoever takes refuge in me shall inherit the land, and possess my holy mountain.

You, My children, are blessed if you suffer in My Name

My dearly beloved daughter, the increasing number of trials you are now undergoing on My behalf is not by chance. As Satan continues to torment you, only think of the souls you are saving through this suffering. Try to rise above these difficulties and keep Me in your thoughts all the time.

Pray to My beloved Mother for protection and recite the Holy Rosary as often as you can.

It is important that all of My followers ask for protection against the deceiver who waits for every opportunity to create doubts in their minds.

He and his demons are everywhere. They will use every tactic possible to cause havoc in your lives. Know that when this happens that you have been touched by My Teachings and that you are now carrying My Cross.

Never fear, children, for you are all capable of arising from this wilderness because of the strength I now bestow on each and every one of you, My army. You will triumph over the evil one and his wickedness. The more you pray in unison, the greater the wall of armour will be. Not one of My children who suffer persecution as a direct result of working for Me can be touched by the evil one.

You, My children, are blessed if you suffer in My Name although you will find it difficult to understand this.

Ignore such taunts. Turn your backs. Do not react. Remain silent. Pray for strength. I Am with you.
