Part 3 of 4.

Part III:  A Non-Starter with No Takers

Now’s my chance for some heavy thinking.

While just ten won’t reopen church doors,

To still hanker for True/Mass-shrinking,

Still needs some Mass that Francis restores.

 

No congregation can he deceive

If there’s few wanting to come back in.

How can they change in what they believe

If there no ‘give’ to get slack in?

 

And if the masses, having returned,

Are thrown out come the net new plague,

What some (back again safe) will have spurned

Must be sharp to the eye: not vague.

 

Still, some will flee the Reformer’s wiles,

As has been foretold. Now, all these outs

And ins are confusing. But Church trials

Do allow time to settle grave doubts.

 

Be this short or long, easy or hard,

This time must end up with real plans,

Since the pope’s schemes, even if en garde,

Will be clear and involve swift bans.

 

Covid Nineteen struck at one fell swoop:

Caught us on the hop, our every right

Violated with not one troop

On the job, nor, on our part, much fight.

 

Meekly we gave in. But the ordeal

Was so great, we might now be inclined

To ask hard questions, what with the Seal

Of the Living God to bring to mind.

 

Its promise is full non-detection

By enemy attempts on our souls.

Much shown by Covid to inspection

Looks New-World-Order in its controls..

 

We must plan our escape. Death camps wait

As bad as past centuries’ worst.

Survive some must this intended fate

As New Era guests live on-board first..

Part II:  Uphill Battle

The Reformer’s remarkably quiet:

Saint Peter’s piazza deserted

But don’t suppose a dearth of riot

Betokens a head-on clash averted.

 

The State meanwhile hints at Level Two.

The faithful feel a surge of hope –

Dashed, once numbers-allowed comes through,

It’s ten per session. Can priests cope?

 

Roster jinks Zoom-daunt parish leaders.

Priests can’t say twenty Sunday masses.

Hand-not-tongue fuss pre-empts fast feeders.

Who dares test-drive uphill molasses? 

 

Catholics may not of course come back

En-masse. The Claytonesque may have served

To make the telly-watch change-of-tack

Suit the liturgically-unnerved.

 

In which case, there’s no Real-Presence crowd

For the Reformer to test live

His changes on, unless they’ve allowed

Home comforts to dull their sense of ‘hive

 

Of activity’ under one roof

In one large room that’s essential church.

There’s nothing like being kept aloof

To kill togetherness as goal-search..

 

Contagion’s still around, and people

May still be mad enough for the tried

And true to demarcate the steeple

As the focus for communal pride.

 

But in due course things may settle down

And cause priest and layman to go back

To ignorance as the source of the renown

That makes popes deciders of ‘right track’.

Part 1 of 4

PART I: A Bubble Dying to be Burst

For month our churches have been closed

To the Mass, the sacraments and prayer.

Now’s the time to get hard-nosed.

The alternative is cold despair.

 

Bad enough if it’s just the State

Clamping down in the name of health.

But it’s the Church too, quelling debate,

And waging war on our common wealth.

 

Yes: sanitary insanity

Versus the saints. Barricades get stormed,

But all in vain. O Vanity

Of vanities! Bugs all-style house-warmed!

 

Even at risk: age-old last  rites.

Rest-home/hospital/private dwelling;

The faithful fraught; long days,  long nights; 

Casualty figures a-swelling.

 

Wakes/funerals/interments : sparse.

That includes not only the deceased.

Oh, the days of Man are as grass,

Feeding only the burgeoning Beast..

 

Notwithstanding the Church and State bans,

Innovators splash out live-stream,

Or make cars-as-pews parking-lot plans

As underground heads the Norm-Stay Dream.

 

Or else: spiritually commune

And make reparation capital

Out of plain hostilities in tune

With a last satanic wrap-it-all.

Mary, Help of Christians: A special Feast Day

Today is the feast of Mary Help of Christians.

In Australia, it is a first Class Feast. Our Cathedral in Sydney is named after her. Her image is displayed there. Most importantly, she is Patroness of Australia. We are so fortunate to have her as our Protectress.

In Masses today, ( live-streamed and in small Masses of 10 people at a time), there will be the words of the hymn that I like to think was especially written for us. It was written by academic, poet, journalist, literary critic and hymn writer James McAuley (1917-1976). and set to a tune by composer Richard Connolly (b 1927).   

The words are like a National Anthem – indeed it raises and inflames our hearts with love: to our Blessed Mother and for our country. It is sung with full voice. There were only 10 at Mass today, but it sounded like a battle hymn. Indeed,m what comes to mind is a verse from Song of Songs ( or Canticle of Canticles /Song of Solomon in Douay Rheims version) , which is used in the Legion of Mary as an introduction to the Magnificat:

” Who is she that cometh forth as the morning rising, fair as the moon, bright as the sun, terrible as an army set in array?” (Ch. 6:9)

“Terrible as an army in battle array” – Our Lady is the army General, ready for battle. The enemy flees at her sight and her Name. She is Queen of Heaven and Earth, and Co-Redemptrix. In the image, both she and her Son, Jesus, wear a Crown. She holds the sceptre of authority; Jesus holds the “orb” – the globe with the Cross on top of it indicating that Christ rules the world.

The best news is that today, the Bishops of Australia are to consecrate Australia to the  Immaculate Heart of Mary Help of Christians!

It is a great shame, though, that not many faithful will be able to be at Masses to celebrate this. In fact, it has not been advertised. I guess,” No Mass, no bulletins”

Our Lady – Mary Help of Christians- , as Patroness of Australia is placed with Australia at her feet.  The words of our hymn are heartfelt and strong:

“Help of Christians, guard this land,
From assault or inward stain,
Let it be what Christ has planned,
His new Eden where you roam.

Teach us that in Christ your Son
Lies the wisdom to be free;
For the Cross, which we would shun,
Is man’s Tree of Liberty.”

Other stanzas mention:
“powers of hell’; “coward heart”;
“our peace be trampled down”;

and the final line’
“Draw us to your victory”

 

Mary, our Queen and our Mother and “Help of Christians” has always been fighting for her children, in the worst times of our history: at the Battle of Lepanto, and others.

When Napoleon took over France. Pope Pius VII was kidnapped by Napoleon  and imprisoned and subjected to trials and humiliations for 5 years. In the Battle of Leipzig, a coalition of armies from Russia, Prussia, Austria, and Sweden defeated the army of Napoleon. When the pope was released, he attributed the victory to Mary’s intercession. After Napoleon’s defeat, the pope gave thanks to God and Mary by declaring May 24 as the Feast of Our Lady, Help of Christians in Jan.1814

“The Feast Day of Our Lady Mary Help of Christians has been celebrated in Australia since 1844. …

The infant church in Australia had a special reason for turning to Mary. No priests were sent to the colony in its early days and Mass was not allowed except for one brief year until 1820. It was largely the Rosary in those early days that kept the faith alive.

The Australian Catholic community remained faithful to Mary and Australia was the first nation to choose her under the title, ‘Mary Help of Christians’ as principle Patroness.

Australia also became the first country to have a cathedral dedicated in Our Lady, Mary’s name. St Mary’s Cathedral in Sydney was dedicated in her honour by the Irish pioneer priest, Fr John Therry who arrived in Sydney in 1820.”

My Divine Mercy is to be realised as revealed to St. Faustina

I, your Jesus, wish to inform the world that My Divine Mercy is to be realised, as revealed to My daughter, Helena, Saint Faustina.

This mystery will be revealed, as all will witness the final manifestation of My Rays of Mercy, for the salvation of mankind.

For those who mock you, My daughter, and say that this mystery has already been revealed to the world, they must know this.

How many people in the world today know about My Promise of Divine Mercy? Very few, including you, My daughter.

Did My followers not know that I would come back to prepare the world for this Great Event?

I always prepare My children for such events. My Eternal Father sends prophets into the world, with one goal, to give you adequate warning so that souls are not taken unawares. Relish this Gift of prophecy. Don’t reject it.

Never think you know all about My Ways, because while you may love Me, you do not always know Me, or understand My Ways.

For each one of you who mocks My prophets, remember it is not they you mock, but Me. They are simply the instruments.

You, My children, must never assume you really know Me, for if you did you would not deny Me. Yet today, just as My disciples did, when I walked among them, you still deny that it is I who beckons you to Me.

You hold one hand out to Me with your left and you slap Me with your right.

Don’t you hear Me speak to you now? If not, then sit quietly and pray to Me, so I can fill your weary heart, with the Fire of My Holy Spirit.

I love you and if you will allow Me into your heart, without your armour of steel, which blocks Me, I will make you free.

When you open your eyes and see that it is I, your Divine Saviour, speaking with you, then follow Me on the road to the New Paradise, with love and joy in your heart.

Do not allow the evil one to plant doubts in your mind. Pray that you will be strong enough, humble in mind and spirit, to run into My Arms.

Only when you come to Me, as a child, will you truly find peace in your soul. This is the only way to allow Me into your heart.

Prayer can avert disharmony in the world

My dearly beloved daughter, prayer and devotion to Me is like water given to a thirsty man. When you lack water your thirst will continue so that eventually without water you will die. For those who know Me, love Me and show devotion to Me, you must understand one thing. If you do not continue to receive My Body and pray to Me regularly, you will very quickly lose your desire for Me. Without this desire you will distance yourselves from Me, until your heads will be turned by the temptation of sin planted in your minds by Satan. Without Me, Truly Present in your lives, you are nothing, My children.

Be on your guard at all times. Prayer protects you from sin. Your devotion to Me may attract the deceiver, who will taunt you more often. However, without regular devotion to Me, you will walk aimlessly in this world.

Believers understand that prayer can avert much disharmony in the world. Already, prayers said through this visionary and other seers, has eased the immediate dangers facing Pope Benedict, but not for too long. Prayer to My Blessed Mother can move mountains, dilute the impact of evil atrocities, including those foretold and convert sinners.

Remember this lesson, My daughter, prayer acts as your armour against the deceiver.You, most of all, must learn the necessity of regular prayer in your Mission. You need to spend more time in silent reflection with Me. For when you do not do this your discernment of My Messages becomes weakened and errors can occur. Be careful, My daughter, when referring to dates of the prophecies given to you. If I say months that could be anytime within a year. Never confuse human interpretation with those of the timelines given to you by Me. I have not given you any specific dates for events only guidelines. These prophecies will take place, but only by the Hand of My Eternal Father. Trust in Me more. Your prayers and those of My followers can help delay, or in some cases, avert disasters. Always remember that.

Pray, Pray, Pray. For when you do this from the heart, your prayers are heard. Pray especially for those world leaders whose lives will be ended soon through hateful evil acts. They and those with hardened hearts, guilty of the crime of inhumanity, need your prayers most of all. Always pray for sinners because I love all My children and I need your prayers to save them from the fires of Hell.

COVIDIC LIFT UP A TOWER OF BABBLE

They used to call them ‘storeys’.
Now they call them ‘levels’.
These we’ve been riding up and down.
They’ve proved the very devils.

We’d never heard of them before.
To do with medical alerts..
But as China faced a new disease,
Info started to come in wee spurts.

All at once we had a great crisis,
Taxing the wits of Church and State.
As the Internet went viral,
Some wags dubbed this ‘WuhanGate’.

The first fine careless rupture with sense
Is now meeting ‘level pegging’..
The signs all point to a comedown ‘two’,
Though enterprise has gone a lot begging.

For weeks I’ve tended a fevered P.C.,
As pain burbled away in my guts.
Devouring each new post as it came,
I might have gone occasionally nuts.

The doors now aim to be still for a bit.
My stomach’s back to a state of zen.
But like Baking Powder I fear
The lift is sure to rise again.

Put life on hold
Call it lock-down
Shatter the sheep fold
Slow the clock down

Yeah, shut the churches
Cancel the gigs
Suborn all that nurtures
To the Mrs and Mr Bigs

Precise social distance
A-bubble in far-from sham pain
That’s the new world insistence  –
Never the godly again.

Crusader Will takes every opportunity to spread the Word.

Many of our priests are suffering, and don’t seem to react, and don’t speak up.

On the lack of the Eucharist:

CLOSURE BRINGS NO CLOSURE

If i can’t have the Real McCoy,
Why should Clayton’s bring me joy?
A Real Absence fills my cup. 
I’m losing the incentive to sup
The object of the exercise.
Should it come as any surprise?
I must try exerting my will.
No way else is filling the bill.

 

On Good Friday:

A Jericho Walk

At the local church today,
I laid a bloodstained wreathe at the closed door
The wreathe was leafy branches daubed with red paint.
I walked round the church seven times.
What I call a Jericho Walk.
Not to pray that the church walls fall down, but the walls of resistance to God’s work.

It is an expiatory exercise that I invented myself.
I did it once round St Mary’s Manchester Street, Christchurch
The quakes did not fell it,
though two cathedrals were felled, I make no claim for my action.
But that walk i did.

I thoroughly disapprove of churches being closed.
I said as much to the front door.
it’s a damned insult to Jesus Christ, I said.
i have said as much on the internet.
Church leaders and parish priests would be appalled at how angry many Catholics are with them.
The clergy can expect a massive backlash when churches reopen.
People are ropable. I am ropable.
 I did not watch any church services but read reflections on the Passion.
