The World’s Greatest Weapon Part IV : A timeless prayer

+AMDG+

So then, what is it about this sublime and timeless prayer which has such dramatic impact on situations and nations?

In essence it is a repetition of phrases lifted from Holy Scripture, the living Word of God, which brings to mind Isaiah 55:11, “The Word that goes forth from My Mouth, shall not return to Me unfulfilled…without accomplishing My purposes.”

1143_jesus_handing_rosary_to_st_dominic_4f5e857a19fb7

Originally associated with the 150 Psalms of the Bible, each bead of the Hail Mary represented one psalm over 15 decades. This was in an age of general illiteracy prior to the printing press when the Rosary was known as “the poor man’s Psalter”. Nowadays it remains a Gospel compendium, with the contemplative aspect of visualizing scenes from the life of Jesus and Mary set against the almost musical, rhythmical backdrop of the “angelic salutation”, linked by Christ’s own prayer, the Our Father, and the Trinitarian Glory Be, enveloping the soul in a total atmosphere of prayer which engages both mind and lips.

When the Virgin Mary appeared to Saint Dominic in 1214, the Holy Rosary assumed its present form along with fifteen promises for advocates. One in particular is awesome in its content: we are promised the “entire celestial court” as intercessors during our life!

The World’s Greatest Weapon, Part III – Remedy against Abortion

+AMDG+

Whenever Christians have gathered in great numbers united together reciting the Holy Rosary, miracles have happened, wars and invasions been averted, evils and heresies overcome.

Life-3Individual devotees today can similarly quote their own personal miracles and experiences of great wonder.

Catholic convert and ex-Satanic high priest, Zachary King, who visited New Zealand in February this year (2016), told of his first encounter with the Rosary when it was prayed outside an abortion clinic where he was involved. He had no idea what these people were “chanting”. He repeated the words he heard, “Hail Mary full of grace”, and the intended abortion had quite unexpected developments and was abandoned.

Again and again he witnessed the consequences when Catholics assembled outside clinics praying the Rosary.

Bishop Schneider’s advice to Parents

+AMDG+

In a recent article Bishop Schneider has acknowledged the fears and the reality of what is to come – the ‘sexual anarchy’ which will be disguised as gender rights, and marriage equality. We fear for our children.

The insane laws are coming fast – here in this country, they have tried to bring in a programme of education  to apply to schools called ‘Safe Schools”. It is meant to be an anti-bullying strategy – but of course it entailed things hidden from the eye. Fortunately Christian groups brought it to the public’s attention, and it has been amended somewhat. The good news is that it is optional, but a list was published and 2 schools that have taken it on are actually “catholic”.

Bishop Schneider has laid out a survival plan for Catholic parents who find themselves in a secular, relativistic, and hostile environment but who simply want to raise their children to become future citizens of heaven.

Bishop Schneider said that to survive in a heretical wasteland, Catholic parents must:

  1. See persecution as a grace from God for becoming purified and strengthened, not simply as something negative.
  2. Become rooted yourself in the Catholic faith through study of the Catechism.
  3. Protect your family’s integrity above all else.
  4. Catechize your children as your first duty.
  5. Pray with your children daily, such as litanies and the Rosary.
  6. Turn your home into a domestic church.
  7. In the absence of a priest and Sunday Mass, make spiritual communion.
  8. Withdraw your family from a parish spreading error and attend a faithful parish, even if you have to travel far.
  9. Withdraw your children from school if they are encountering immoral danger in sex-ed.
  10. If you cannot withdraw your children, establish a coalition of parents to fight for that right.
  11. Fight for parental rights using available democratic tools.
  12. Be prepared for persecution in protecting your children (see first point).

The bishop said that being a Catholic “family” in the truest sense of the word is the key to survival.

The World’s Greatest Weapon, Part II – Power of the Rosary

+AMDG+

Probably the most extraordinary testimony to the Rosary’s power comes from Japan at the close of the Second World War.

When the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, four Jesuit priests werp.txte at the blinding epicenter of the nuclear flash that obliterated everything for kilometres. Miraculously they survived, unharmed, without any signs of radiation. Scientists were baffled and can still offer no explanation.

In Nagasaki, the same thing happened with a group of Friars. They were at ground zero, their lives preserved too. Within a week the war concluded, on August 15, the feast of Mary’s Assumption, and remarkably this was the name of the Church where the Jesuits were stationed. Both the Jesuits and Friars believe they were saved by the Fatima prayers, especially the Rosary which they were praying.

After the Nazis withdrew their troops from Austria at the end of the same World War, this beleaguered nation was then occupied by the Soviets who used it as the strategic centre-piece of the Eastern Bloc in their post-war manoeuvres. In obedience to the Virgin Mary’s request at Fatima, seventy thousand Austrians collectively agreed to pray the Rosary, and for some unknown reason, the Russians packed up and left their country on 13 May 1955, a key Fatima date.

The World’s Greatest Weapon, Part1– it’s in our hands!

+AMDG+

If you were given the power to bring peace to our troubled world, wouldn’t you use it? In the present climate of fear with the upsurge in violence and terror, the deepening crisis in international conflict and growing uncertainty, we can often feel helpless to do anything. Sometimes we even begin to lose hope.

Rosary beads

Nearly a hundred years ago, in the Church-approved events of Fatima, Sister Lucia revealed how the Holy Virgin Mary had said that God has granted extra power and effectiveness to the recitation of the Holy Rosary for our times. This “efficacy” has been given to such an extent, she was told, that there is no problem in our families, our communities, our private lives, or the life of peoples and nations, which cannot be resolved by praying this ancient prayer.

It is a supernatural weapon placed in our hands “because the devil has entered into a final and decisive battle in the last times in which we live” and the spiritual warfare is intensifying.

Golden Oldies – Hymns for the Remnant Army and those faithful to Church doctrine as taught by Jesus.

My favourite hymns are “We stand for God”, “Faith of our Fathers” and “Help of Christians guard this land”. I’m not sure how well known they are in the rest of the world, but here in our country they are well known and always sung with full gusto. – at least in the Traditional Rite Masses.

In the last verse of ‘We stand for God’, the second line refers to the constellation of stars (the Southern Cross), which is on our nation’s flag. These stars can be seen in the Southern hemisphere.

Faith of our Fathers!   living stillst peter

In spite of dungeon, fire and sword,

O how our hearts beat high with joy

Whene’er we hear that glorious word!

Chorus:

Faith of our fathers, holy faith!

We will be true to thee till death.

We will be true to thee till death.

2. Our fathers, chained in prisons dark,

Were still in heart and conscience free:

How sweet would be their children’s fate,

if they like them could die for thee!

                       Chorus

3. Faith of our fathers, we will love,

Both friend and foe in all our strife,

And preach thee too, as love knows how,

By kindly words and virtuous life:

Chorus:

(F.W. Faber 1814-1863)

We stand for God! In Hoc Signo Vinces

and for his glory;

The Lord Supreme and God of all;

Against his foes we raise his standard;

Around the Cross we hear his call.

Chorus:

Strengthen our faith, Redeemer;

Guard us when danger is nigh;

To thee we pledge our lives and service;

For God we live, for God we’ll die.

(Repeat last 2 lines)

2. We stand for God! Jesus our Master

has died to save with love untold;

His law divine and truth unchanging

In this our land their place must hold.

                   Chorus:

 3. We stand for God!  In ages oldenSouthern Cross

He placed ‘the Cross’ our stars beside;

Oh may our land gracious and golden

Be faithful to the Crucified.

                   Chorus:

(J.P. O’Daly O.P.; Vs. 3 by John O”Brien 1878-1953)

Help of Christians, guard this land,     OL H of Ch AUst

From assault or inward stain;

let it be what Christ has planned,

His new Eden where you reign.

Teach us that in Christ your Son

Lies the wisdom to be free;

For the Cross, which we would shun,

Is man’s Tree of Liberty.

2.  Should the powers of hell arise,

And our peace be trampled down,

In that night of blood and lies

Show us still your twelve-starred crown.

3. Take from us the coward heart,

Fleeting will, divided mind,

Give us sight to play our part,

Though the world around is blind.

4. Image of the risen life

Shining in eternity

Glimmer through our earthly strife,

Draw us to your victory.

    See here for the full message:    https://missionofsalvation.wordpress.com/Message-0395/

Overview of the readings:

The NAB bible entitles this “True and False worship”. This sums it all up. We are told of worship that does not honour God: ”he that offereth an oblation, as if he should offer swine’ s blood” and  “and their soul is delighted in their abominations” and we are told that God is not pleased – “I also will choose their mockeries, and will bring upon them the things they feared: because I called, and there was none that would answer; I have spoken, and they heard not; and they have done evil in my eyes, and have chosen the things that displease me.”

The second reading (from the B of T) speaks of  the purification of the earth through \nature’s upheavals. Jesus tells au that this is God’s Hand of Justice weeding out the evil infestation. He tells us that it is the battle to destroy sin.

In the third reading, Jesus tells us  that we still have much work to do to tell people of the Warning – of the red sky, and the Cross in the sky and the meaning of these, which will have them rejoice. We need to reassure people not to fear when they see these things.

The final reading tells us of Jesus’ sufferings and torment which will last while sin exists..When we suffer and endure torment of soul at what is happening, it is only a small fraction of what Jesus is suffering. He tells us that we must not condemn others, but show kindness; how even believers believe everything but on their own terms. He tells us how many times have you heard that God is ever-merciful, He is so merciful that because He loves everyone he would never condemn them? That he would never send a soul to hell? (This falls very close to home at the moment, considering what we are being told by people high up in the Vatican)

Jesus tells us that people choose to go to hell because they refuse to turn their backs on mortal sin,  and they will not they seek forgiveness or show remorse. (these are words that are never repeated by he who sits in Peter’s chair and many clergy who are eager to follow his ways– only “mercy” is heard).

Jesus speaks to those who devote their lives to him, know scripture but who reject him:“…your rejections of me now, will leave you tormented and in great sorrow when the truth is revealed to you. Because, then you will realise the souls which you cast aside, when I needed your help to salvage them….” Jesus begs us to respond to His call.

In conclusion, these readings, tell us what God thinks of those who are guilty of ‘false worship’ and how they will be punished. (Definitely a message for us in the Church today). In the other readings, we are told of the Special Graces Jesus has in store – firstly he will rid the earth of sin and evil; secondly he explains the Warning and how we will rejoice in His great Mercy. In the final reading He tells us of His anguish at those who reject His graces, and His Sacraments and teachings, and the fact that He speaks to us in this way.

Bible Reading (Douay Rheims): Isaiah 66:1-6

[1] Thus saith the Lord: Heaven is my throne, and the earth my footstool: what is this house that you will build to me? and what is this place of my rest? [2] My hand made all these things, and all these things were made, saith the Lord. But to whom shall I have respect, but to him that is poor and little, and of a contrite spirit, and that trembleth at my words?

[3] He that sacrificeth an ox, is as if he slew a man: he that killeth a sheep in sacrifice, as if he should brain a dog: he that offereth an oblation, as if he should offer swine’ s blood; he that remembereth incense, as if he should bless an idol. All these things have they chosen in their ways, and their soul is delighted in their abominations.

[4] Wherefore I also will choose their mockeries, and will bring upon them the things they feared: because I called, and there was none that would answer; I have spoken, and they heard not; and they have done evil in my eyes, and have chosen the things that displease me. [5] Hear the word of the Lord, you that tremble at his word: Your brethren that hate you, and cast you out for my name’ s sake, have said: Let the Lord be glorified, and we shall see in your joy: but they shall be confounded.

[6] A voice of the people from the city, a voice from the temple, the voice of the Lord that rendereth recompense to his enemies.

Notes: [1] What is this house: This is a prophecy that the temple should be cast off.

[3] He that sacrificeth an ox: This is a prophecy that the sacrifices which were offered in the old law should be abolished in the new; and that the offering of them should be a crime.– Ibid.

[3] Remembereth incense: Viz., to offer it in the way of a sacrifice.

[4] Will choose their mockeries: I will turn their mockeries upon themselves; and will cause them to be mocked by their enemies.

Our prayer theme today:    Protection

The readings are chosen after the Crusade Prayers and after a prayer to the Holy Spirit for guidance and listed below An overview of the readings will be posted below. It is recommended that you read the messages in full by clicking on the link beneath each one.

The Readings today:

  1. Bible: Acts11:19-26

[19] Now they who had been dispersed by the persecution that arose on occasion of Stephen, went about as far as Phenice and Cyprus and Antioch, speaking the word to none, but to the Jews only. [20] But some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who, when they were entered into Antioch, spoke also to the Greeks, preaching the Lord Jesus.

[21] And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believing, were converted to the Lord. [22] And the tidings came to the ears of the church that was at Jerusalem, touching these things: and they sent Barnabas as far as Antioch. [23] Who, when he was come, and had seen the grace of God, rejoiced: and he exhorted them all with purpose of heart to continue in the Lord. [24] For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith. And a great multitude was added to the Lord. [25] And Barnabas went to Tarsus to seek Saul: whom, when he had found, he brought to Antioch.

[26] And they conversed there in the church a whole year; and they taught a great multitude, so that at Antioch the disciples were first named Christians.

3 My Word will be like a sword, which will cut through confusion and lies. (21st December, 2012)

See here for the full messagehttps://missionofsalvation.wordpress.com/Message-0649/

Overview of the readings:

The Bible reading speaks about the persecution just after St Stephen, the first martyr. It speaks of Barnabas and (Saul) Paul at Antioch spreading God’s word and converting many people at Antioch, which was a strong Christian centre. The message for us is that God always sends holy people to strengthen his people.

The second reading (from the B of T) speaks of Jesus sadness at the evil which has spread to such an extent that souls have nothing to guide them. Jesus tells us that only one third will be able to distinguish between good and evil. He speaks of ‘Souls with hardened hearts, with a hatred for others, a lack of compassion, greed and lust for violence’ who will be admired in the world. Satan’s plan is to destroy souls, but Jesus tells us that He ‘will not hesitate to provide the signs, which are needed to wake (us) up to the Love of God’.

In the third reading, Jesus tells us that “the time to spread his messages is now”. He tells us that His disciples and Sacred Servants will preach from the 4 corners of the earth. He tells usMy Father’s Book, the Holy Bible, will be revisited and My Word will be read again” and that His Word “will be like a sword, which will cut through confusion and lies.”

Jesus instructs us how to convert people: He tells us Please pray for the courage, the strength and the will to do what it is that I ask of you. Remind them that I died for them. Tell them that the time for Me to come again is soon. Comfort them by revealing to them the great Gift of the New Paradise I Am to reveal. Tell them that I Am coming to save them and to end their suffering.”

In these readings, Jesus tells us how He will protect us – through His Holy Word and His disciples which he will send.

Our Lady Help of Christians: Feast day 24th May

+AMDG+

OL Help of ChrLet us not forget our dearest Mother on this day. She has been ignored this month (May) and on many other feastdays… ( the Assumption, Immaculate Conception,…etc). We desperately need her now!

The invocation Auxilium Christianorum (Help of Christians ) originated in the sixteenth century. In 1576 two  litanies were published that were used at Lorreto.  One of these (“Aliae litaniae B.M.V.”) is identical with the litany of Loreto, and was  approved by Clement VIII in 1601. It is now used throughout the entire Church.

According to the Roman Breviary, Pius V inserted the invocation in the Litany  of Loreto after the battle of Lepanto. It is possible that the warriors returning from the Battle of Lepanto (on 7th Oct. 1571, visited the sanctuary of Loreto, and saluted the Holy Virgin there for the first time with this new title.

The history of the feastday dates back to the 1800’s.

Napoleon Bonaparte had jailed Pius VI who died in jail. When Pope Pius VII was elected he too was jailed by Bonaparte, who kept him prisoner  The Holy Father vowed to God that if he were restored to the Roman See, he would institute a special feast in honour of Mary. The military eventually forced Bonaparte to release the Pope and on 24 May 1814, Pius VII returned in triumph to Rome. Twelve months later the Pope decreed that the feast of Mary Help of Christians be kept on 24 May.

OL H of Ch AUstThe feast day of Mary Help of Christians has been celebrated in Australia since 1844. The infant church in Australia had a special reason for turning to Mary. No priests were sent to the colony in its early days and Mass was not allowed except for one brief year until 1820. It was largely the Rosary in those early days that kept the faith alive. Catholic Australia remained faithful to Mary and was the first nation to choose her under the title Help of Christians, as principal Patroness.

St Mary's cathedral DSydney

When Australia became the first country to have Mary Help of Christians as Patroness, it became the first country to have a mother-cathedral under the same title.

Let us ask our dear Mother – the Help of all Christians – who with the help of that most powerful weapon, the Holy Rosary, saved Europe from the enemy at Lepanto in 1571; in Vienna in 1683; in 1716 in Peterwardsein in Hungary; in 1955 in Austria against the communists; in 1966 in Brazil and in 1975 in Portugal where communist rule was averted.

We turn to her now under her most powerful titles, amongst them being – Mother of Salvation, Our Lady Help of Christians, and Our Lady Queen of the Rosary to lead us in this battle against the enemy which confronts the whole world .

4. Mary: Satan loses his power when My Rosary is recited  (25 June 2011)

Overview of the readings:

The Bible reading refers to the “terrible day of the Lord”. It tells us that it is near – the darkness, whirlwinds, fire and being overrun by a strong people. (That is, the chastisements which are to come).

The first reading from the Book of Truth reminds us about the Feastday of the Mother of  Salvation and the medal of Salvation.(Indeed, it is in about 2 weeks that we have an interregional prayer group meeting planned to celebrate).

The second reading from the B of T tells us that so many people “who love (Jesus) the most” will ignore His warnings and their souls will be lost. Jesus tells us of the intense hatred that the devil has for Him and His Church. Jesus, however, tells us that He will fill their souls with the Holy Spirit and that He will fight for these souls.

In the final message, Our Blessed Mother tells us about the power and importance of the Rosary. She tells us that it is the weapon that will help save souls. The devil groans in pain when it is said, his power is weakened, he cringes and loses his power. Our Mother tell us that we must tell others, including non-catholics to say it.

In conclusion, our theme for the prayers we prayed today was for “Protection”. We are told of the medal of Salvation and the Rosary (in this month of May!), 2 of the messages from the book of Truth. In The other message Jesus tells us how He will not give up in saving His most-loved souls. This message as well as the last one also tell us about the intense hatred of the devil and his efforts to deceive and capture souls. Jesus and our bl. Mother reassure us about the protection we have at our disposal and of their love for us in this battle.

 Bible Reading (Douay Rheims)

Joel 2: 1-11

[1] Blow ye the trumpet in Sion, sound an alarm in my holy mountain, let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: because the day of the Lord cometh, because it is nigh at hand, [2] A day of darkness, and of gloominess, a day of clouds and whirlwinds: a numerous and strong people as the morning spread upon the mountains: the like to it hath not been from the beginning, nor shall be after it even to the years of generation and generation. [3] Before the face thereof a devouring fire, and behind it a burning flame: the land is like a garden of pleasure before it, and behind it a desolate wilderness, neither is there any one that can escape it. [4] The appearance of them is as the appearance of horses, and they shall run like horsemen. [5] They shall leap like the noise of chariots upon the tops of mountains, like the noise of a flame of fire devouring the stubble, as a strong people prepared to battle.

[6] At their presence the people shall be in grievous pains: all faces shall be made like a kettle. [7] They shall run like valiant men: like men of war they shall scale the wall: the men shall march every one on his way, and they shall not turn aside from their ranks. [8] No one shall press upon his brother: they shall walk every one in his path: yea, and they shall fall through the windows, and shall take no harm. [9] They shall enter into the city: they shall run upon the wall, they shall climb up the houses, they shall come in at the windows as a thief. [10] At their presence the earth hath trembled, the heavens are moved: the sun and moon are darkened, and the stars have withdrawn their shining.

[11] And the Lord hath uttered his voice before the face of his army: for his armies are exceeding great, for they are strong and execute his word: for the day of the Lord is great and very terrible: and who can stand it?

Notes: [1] The day of the Lord: That is, the time when he will execute justice upon sinners.

[2] A numerous and strong people: The Assyrians, or Chaldeans. Others understand all this as an army of locusts laying waste the land.
