Prophecy of France: “the first to be wounded, torn, persecuted”

AM+DG

“The storm will break over

France where I wanted to show the prodigies of My

Divine Heart and unveil its secrets. My children, France

will be the “first to be wounded, torn, persecuted.”

( Marie-Julie Jahenny, June 1882)

France is the eldest daughter of the Church and Jesus has a special Love for her.  She was chosen to reveal the treasures of His most Sacred Heart to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque.  Another special saint  – St Catherine Laboure from France was chosen to bring to the world the Miraculous Medal.

The title ofeldest daughter of the Church’ stems from the fact that France was the first entirely Christian nation. This occurred after the conversion of King Clovis in the 6th century. Her status as ‘daughter of the Church’ was due to the unique status of Frankish kings being anointed and crowned by bishops, which was not a standard thing for a barbaric king back then.

Notre Dame is the icon of Christendom. It is 800 years old and took 200 years to build. It was the pride of the French nation and all its people; regardless of whether or not they were Catholic. Indeed it symbolised the historic beauty, and timeless treasure that is the Church itself.

The name, Notre Dame, means “Our Lady”. Our Lady is the Mother of the Church. The tragic fire was not only an attack on the Church but on our Blessed Mother. The demise of the cathedral of Notre Dame is symbolic of the Church being attacked and falling into ruins. Our Lady-  “Notre Dame” – is asking us to take notice of the destruction of the Church – the Mystical Body of her Son.

The fact that it happened during Holy Week is especially symbolic.  Jesus was betrayed, falsely accused, scourged, mocked, persecuted, suffered, attacked, mocked, stripped and crucified. This is happening to the Mystical Body of Christ today, once again.

The symbolism inherent in the destruction of Notre Dame gives us much to meditate upon:

  • the hierarchical structure, with its priests and bishops; toppling
  • the teachings of Christ which are being reinterpreted – marriage and sexuality; conversion versus all religions lead us to God;
  • the inhabitants of France that once possessed this beautiful church, helplessly knelt outside on their knees in prayer and solemnity; watching the fire destroy their most precious possession, moved to tears
  • special treasures were saved – the Blessed Sacrament; the high altar; the crown of thorns, the Cross; the medieval statue of the Madonna and Child; the Rose stained-glass window, the organ and many precious pieces of art.

  • there was a brave priest, who ignored the danger, who ran into the midst of the fiery destruction and saved what was precious and holy.
  • The spire, which rose high into the heavens – is no more. The building is largely destroyed. Similarly, the teachings, liturgy and prayer have been attacked so that these holy things can no more reach to the heavens.

We will need many brave priests such as Fr. Fournier, in the future. In fact we must pray for all the brave priests who are persecuted because they stand up for the true teachings of the Church and its true (spiritual) treasures

The gates of hell will not prevail. The church in the future will be a much smaller church, but the true teachings and liturgy that give praise and honour to God will be preserved.

To conclude- an excerpt from “ The fire of Notre Dame is a “religious” event (English translation from the French):

“ Notre Dame de Paris was above all an expression of the love of a faithful people for their God and for the Mother of God, an immense sign rising in the heart of the city. How could she remain standing except as an empty shell, if love should fail? Is not this what God meant to men by letting this tragedy happen?”

Prophecies about France / Paris.

The events in France have caused us all to think. There are numerous prophecies where France/Paris is mentioned.
We have not reached the stage where all the things prophesied are evident. The chastisements seem to be beginning in earnest and will eventually reach the stage where they will all be fulfilled.  Our Lady (MDM Message 7 May, 2013 entitled ‘Mother of God: The Mission you have been given is the final link in the Final Covenant’) tells us “I have revealed the truth at La Salette, in France”.

It is well to keep in mind what these prophecies are:

Prophecies of Our lady at La Salette
‘France, Italy, Spain and England will be in war; blood will flow in the streets; Frenchman will fight with Frenchman, Italian with Italian; subsequently there will be a general war which will be appalling. For a time, God will no longer be mindful of France or Italy, because the Gospel of Jesus Christ is no longer known. The wicked will deploy all their malice; they will kill themselves, they will massacre themselves mutually even in the houses.’

As well as:

‘At the first stroke of His lightning sword, the mountains and the whole of nature will tremble with terror, because the disorders and the crimes of men pierce the vault of the heavens. Paris will be burned and Marseilles engulfed; several great cities will be shaken and engulfed by earthquakes: it will be believed that all is lost: only homicides will be seen, only the noise of weapons and blasphemies will be heard.

amongst these prophecies, there is Hope:

‘The just will suffer much; their prayers, their penances and their tears will climb even up to heaven and all the people of God will ask for forgiveness and mercy, and will ask for my help and my intercession. Then Jesus Christ by an act of His justice and of His great mercy for the just, will command to His angels that all His enemies be put to death. All at once the persecutors of the Church of Jesus Christ and all men devoted to sin will perish, and the earth will become like a desert. Then peace, the reconciliation of God with men will be made; Jesus Christ will be served, adored and glorified; charity will flower everywhere. The new kings will be the right arm of the holy Church, which will be strong, humble, pious, poor, zealous and imitator of the virtues of Jesus Christ. The Gospel will be preached everywhere and men will make great progress in the faith, because there will be unity among the workers of Jesus Christ and because men will live in the fear of God.’

and a prophecy about the role of the true disciples (remnant)

‘I address a pressing appeal to the earth: I call upon the true disciples of God living and reigning in the heavens; I call upon the true imitators of Christ made man, the only and true saviour of men; I call upon my children, my true devotees, those who have given themselves to me so that I may guide them to my divine Son, those whom I carry so to speak in my arms, those who have lived by my spirit; finally I call upon the Apostles of the last times, the faithful disciples of Jesus Christ who have lived in a contempt for the world and for themselves, in poverty and in humility, in contempt and in silence, in prayer and in mortification, in chastity and in union with God, in suffering and unknown to the world. It is time that they go out and come to enlighten the earth. Go, and show yourselves as my dear children; I am with you and in you, provided that your faith be the light which enlightens you in these days of woe. May your zeal render you like the starving for the glory and honor of Jesus Christ. Fight, children of light, you the small number who can see; for behold the time of times, the end of ends.’

Prophecies Of The Ecstatic Nun Of Tours (19th Century)

‘When everyone believes that peace is assured, when everyone least expects it, the great happenings will begin. Revolution will break out in Italy almost at the same time as in France.
• “The revolution will spread to every French town. Wholesale slaughter will take place. This revolution will last only a few months but it will be frightful; blood will flow everywhere because the malice of the wicked will reach it’s highest pitch.
Victims will be innumerable. Paris will look like a slaughter-house
• “Many bishops and priests will be put to death. The Archbishop of Paris will be murdered. Many other priests, in Paris, will have their throats cut because they will not have time to find a hiding place.”
“The wicked will be masters for one year and a few months. In those days, France will receive no human assistance. At this juncture, the French people will turn back to God and implore the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Mary Immaculate. They will at last confess that He alone can restore peace and happiness.”
• “The French people will ask for the good King, he who was chosen by God. He will come, this saviour whom God has spared for France, this King who is not wanted now because he is dear to God’s Heart. He will ascend to the throne; he will free the Church and reassert the Pope’s rights.”
