Prayer Theme: Special Graces   (Groups A&D)

Bible:  1Kings 22: 1-17

Book of Truth: 24 July, 2014

Thoughts: Our prayer theme today was ‘Special Graces’. In the Bible reading, the Kings of Israel and Judah were discerning whether to attack a certain city, which they believed should be theirs. The King of Judah told the King of Israel that they should consult prophets. 400 prophets then prophesied what the King of Israel wanted to hear: to attack and the Lord would be with them. The King of Judah implored his friend to find another prophet So they brought in Micaeah. He too, at first, seemed to go along with the other prophets. When the King reprimanded him, he answered:

“I see all Israel scattered on the mountains, like sheep without a shepherd, And the LORD saying, These have no master! Let each of them go back home in peace.”

We too, have leaders (secular and religious) who want only war. The prophet told the King of Israel the truth- that the result would be a people scattered, without a leader. If we consider that the Kings of Judah and Israel were two of the tribes of God’s Chosen people, it seems that people in the Church today are not being led correctly, they are scattered and like “sheep without a shepherd”. The Truth that Micaeah spoke was a “special grace” that God gave to His people, but it seems they were not inclined to listen to God’s Word. It shows us God’s great Love for His people.

The reading from the Book of Truth, adds to this theme of God’s Love. It affirms the theme of the Bible Reading  and refers to ” the victims of cruel and senseless wars.

Reading from the Bible

1Kings 22: 1-17

Three years passed without war between Aram and Israel.
2In the third year, however, King Jehoshaphat of Judah came down to the king of Israel.
3The king of Israel said to his servants, “Do you not know that Ramoth-gilead is ours and we are doing nothing to take it from the king of Aram?”
4He asked Jehoshaphat, “Will you come with me to fight against Ramoth-gilead?” Jehoshaphat answered the king of Israel, “You and I are as one, and your people and my people, your horses and my horses as well.”

Prophetic Condemnation.

5Jehoshaphat also said to the king of Israel, “Seek the word of the LORD at once.”
6The king of Israel assembled the prophets, about four hundred of them, and asked, “Shall I go to fight against Ramoth-gilead or shall I refrain?” They said, “Attack. The Lord will give it into the power of the king.”
7But Jehoshaphat said, “Is there no other prophet of the LORD here we might consult?”
8The king of Israel answered, “There is one other man through whom we might consult the LORD; but I hate him because he prophesies not good, but evil about me. He is Micaiah, son of Imlah.” Jehoshaphat said, “Let not the king say that.”
9So the king of Israel called an official and said to him, “Get Micaiah, son of Imlah, at once.”
10The king of Israel and Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, were seated, each on his throne, clothed in their robes of state in the square at the entrance of the gate of Samaria, and all the prophets were prophesying before them.
11 Zedekiah, son of Chenaanah, made himself two horns of iron* and said, “The LORD says, With these you shall gore Aram until you have destroyed them.”
12The other prophets prophesied in a similar vein, saying: “Attack Ramoth-gilead and conquer! The LORD will give it into the power of the king.”
13Meanwhile, the messenger who had gone to call Micaiah said to him, “Look now, the prophets are unanimously predicting good for the king. Let your word be the same as any of theirs; speak a good word.”
14Micaiah said, “As the LORD lives, I shall speak whatever the LORD tells me.”
15When he came to the king, the king said to him, “Micaiah, shall we go to fight at Ramoth-gilead, or shall we refrain?” He said, “Attack and conquer! The LORD will give it into the power of the king.”
16 But the king answered him, “How many times must I adjure you to tell me nothing but the truth in the name of the LORD?”
17 So Micaiah said:

“I see all Israel

scattered on the mountains,

like sheep without a shepherd,

And the LORD saying,

These have no master!

Let each of them go back home in peace.”

Mother of Salvation: He, who shows no respect for human life, does not acknowledge God

24 July 2014 @ 4:48pm; Message 1178

My dear children of God, you must never forget how special you are in God’s Eyes, for He loves you all unconditionally. How He loves you is beyond your comprehension. He smiles when you smile. He laughs when you laugh. He weeps when you are blighted with pain and sorrow and He becomes enraged when you suffer persecution at the hands of others.

At this time in history, when hatred infests nations everywhere and when innocents are tortured, oppressed and killed, His Hand will reach out and punish the wicked. When humanity defies God by showing no regard for the Laws of God and, in particular, respect for the life of another human being, His Punishment will engulf the world. He, who shows no respect for human life, does not acknowledge God or His Divinity.

God is the Creator and Author of Life – He gives it and only He has the Authority to take it away. Oh how much sorrow there is at this time in His heavenly Kingdom, because of the aggression, which is fuelled by the evil one, against His Creation.

You must ask God to alleviate the suffering, which is caused in the world by men whose hearts are cold, angry and full of hatred. Those who inflict terror on others need your prayers. Please recite this Prayer to protect the weak and the innocent and to alleviate the horrors which man has to endure at this time.

Crusade Prayer (162) To protect the weak and the innocent:

O God, Father Almighty, please protect the weak and the innocent, who suffer at the hands of those with hatred in their hearts. Alleviate the suffering endured by Your poor helpless children.

Give them all the Graces they need to protect themselves from Your enemies. Fill them with courage, hope and charity, so that they can find it in their hearts to forgive those who torment them.

I ask You, dear Lord, my Eternal Father, to forgive those who defy the Law of Life and help them to see how much their actions offend You, so that they can amend their ways and seek solace in Your Arms. Amen.

Children, pray, pray, pray for the protection of those who suffer because of their allegiance to God, the Eternal Father, and for those who are the victims of cruel and senseless wars.

Your beloved Mother
