Tonight, I was reading a simple article I searched up for my 9 yr old son, for part of our bedtime routine. We had just finished reading about Child Saints from one of our favourite sites (Catholicism Pure and Simple) and I chose a linked article called, “Life Holds One Tragedy; -not to have been a Saint.”
You can read it here:

While we read the guts of it, i explained and checked his understanding and we got to the concept of sinner vs.saved; what is the difference? (We are all sinners) then, what does it mean to be saved? As i tried to explain it, he astounds me with this simple gem to distinguish sinners and teaches me instead…
“i know, mum. It’s like this; if you’re sorry, you’re saved. And if you’re saved, you’re sorry.”
How true that is! From the mouths of babes.
i have quite a few kids and their intuition, especially when they are young, never ceases to amaze me. Actually this son’s gems have featured in quite a few of my stories from time to time.
i hope this reninds you to share Faith with those around you- and LISTEN-as the foolish and least expected of this world, are wise in God’s eyes!
