The Nativity Scene Of the Anti-Church

AMDG

Removing Christ from Christmas

We have all seen the efforts to remove Christ at Christmas: “Happy holidays”; removing nativity scenes from shopping centres because they discriminate against other people’s beliefs; in most western countries the “Santa Claus” identity, which is used by retailers to sell their goods.

We have tried to fight back. Some stores (at least down here in Australia) have returned the traditional Nativity scene; I haven’t heard the phrase “happy holidays used in this country, but in U.S. I believe, there is a movement back to “Merry Christmas” instead of “happy holidays”.  We might think that there is not much we can do about Santa Claus – but wait, there is. Children love to hear about St Nicholas and the Christmas traditions of other cultures – e.g. “Christkindl”. We should teach our children that  Santa Claus is just a big copycat – not just in the giving of gifts, but in his attire. The bishop’s mitre of St Nicholas was changed into a silly red hat, and his stately bishop’s robe and cloak changed into a jacket and pants. Even the beautiful “Christkindl” was changed into “Kris Kringle”!

It is easy to say this, but in reality it is difficult to fight. My own children were brought up on Santa Claus as were my grandchildren – but they did know about St Nicholas and I have a St Nicholas displayed in all his glory in the Advent and Christmas season. The children should know that it is Jesus’ birthday.

The Great Nativity Scene Deception

Today, however, I saw in a new post in Veritas Vincit, the ultimate betrayal. – the official Nativity Scene erected outside the Vatican.

You might think that it is all about the Corporal works of Mercy. Corporal Works of Mercy are very Christian- they are all about doing good to our neighbour, being merciful, being humble, giving of ourselves…. Wouldn’t Jesus be proud of us?

But when you look at the scene, it is hard to identify Joseph; and Mary is away at the side somewhere – not even near the Christchild. There are “close to 20 life-size images, making it very difficult to find Jesus, Mary and Joseph”.

Instead, there are figures of a person being visited in prison, burying the dead, clothing the naked. The latter depicts a man who is naked. This is what attracts your attention! It is designed to take the focus away from Jesus, Mary and Joseph. They are completely crowded out.  I would not be taking any young children to see this nativity scene.

It focuses on helping others, instead of adoring our new-born SaviourIt seems to be trying to remove Christ from Christmas – to remove Christ from our consciousness completely. It is a great betrayal  by the man who sits in the chair of Peter, to further remove any thought of Christ. He is paving the way to remove Christ completely – paving the way for the new One World Religion.

Focussing on humanism and secularism are indicators of Communism – the “errors of communism” as predicted by Our Lady at Fatima.

“The wickedness of the beast will be disguised as charming and modern and it will be revealed to all behind the veneer of humanitarianism, charity and ‘care for the poor’. …Every gesture, subtle though it may be, will be designed to insult Me, Jesus Christ, the Son of Man. The deceiver, through his servants, cannot resist mocking Me, for he hates Me. (See whole message at: https://missionofsalvation.wordpress.com/Message-0938/

(From Book of Truth: 17th October, 2013)

Why go to such lengths?

Christmas brings to mind the truth of Jesus’ birth – not just a myth, but an historic fact. This goes against the objectives of the One World Order.

“The false prophet will have a religion without a cross…. There will be a counterfeit church. Christ’s church will be one. And the False prophet will create the other. The false church will be worldly, ecumenical and global….It will be emptied of all divine content(Archbishop Fulton Sheen, 1950)

Why do they want to destroy Christmas?

The Book of Truth tells us about the effects of Christmas:

  • “Christmas Day is My Gift to humanity. It is because of this day that eternal life became possible for mortal man.” (22 Dec, 2012)
  • “My Birth is a Sign to all that God the Eternal Father, loved His children, so much, that He made a huge Sacrifice. By allowing Me to come to Earth, to live amongst you all, He showed His Compassion and desire to save you, by permitting My death. If He had not sent Me, man could not be saved.” (24 Sept. 2010)
  • “Nevertheless, it has been acknowledged by devout Christians as a time to reflect on their allegiance to Me their Saviour (25 Dec 2010)
  • “Remember then, at Christmas, that My birth was to help you begin to re-evaluate your belief in the Heavens, to which you are all entitled to be part of. By remembering My Life, you can now join with Me in My Father’s Kingdom, if you open your hearts and ask Me to embrace you once more.” (24 Dec. 2010)
  • “As all of you celebrate My Birthday, allow Me to enter your heart on this special day – for this day is Mine. Invite Me into your home as a favoured guest and introduce Me to those amongst your family, friends and neighbours, who may have forgotten about Me. Christmas may be a celebration about Me, but I am ignored amidst the great rejoicings, which take place.” (Dec. 22, 2014)
  • ” You can only love one God and the only way to My Father is through Me, His Only-Begotten Son. Separate yourselves from Me in pursuits of political campaigns, which strive to promote human rights and social justice as a substitute for the Word, then you will deny Me.” (20 Dec. 2014)
  • “This is the time for My children, everywhere, to reflect on My life on Earth. It is a time for them to consider the implications that My birth represents, for all of mankind. It is because of My birth that man will seek salvation.” (24 Dec. 2010)

Christmas reinforces the truth of Jesus’ birth Christmas might lead people back to God therefore the enemy wants to destroy it.

Another Crusader’s view by friend (Tt Crusader) who regularly contributes to this site.

“Even I’m shocked! What does any of this have to do with the Nativity ???

Notice, for your discernment:

1) the destroyed copula, with the real cupola of St Peter’s in the background, represents the destruction of the Catholic Church,

combined with

2) the Star of Bethlehem which looks more like a falling nuclear missile/meteorite

So the distorted copola/star combination of this “nativity scene” is a message about the upcoming one world religion.”

From the Book of Truth (27 Nov. 2014): The false church of darkness will be built to replace the old after the great inferno. All that was present in my Son’s Church will be replaced with all that will be new.” (Mother of Salvation )”

DonnaLiane’s comments on Veritas Vincit site:

Those who have seen it are right in saying that the viewer’s attention is first drawn to the naked man (who is lying down, mind you!) It’s all about vectors. These are lines created which draw your eyes in a ‘path’ so that each element has a particular prominence and order of importance. It is used to greatly emphasize certain parts And in this scene the figures have been situated, framed by the giant tree, to draw attention to that naked man figure first. He is not even realistic!

Homeless people or the destitute poor who cannot even clothe themselves are not going to look like a Greek Adonis, now are they?!! And why would he be lying down, fully exposed in that fashion if he was naked? He would be curled in a ball to keep himself warm. These are either wicked men or very stupid. It must be torture to serve Our Lord in the Vatican these days. Absolute torture. …

…. It’s the context (historical and cultural) which gives meaning to an artwork. In today’s context, they are not portraying the creation of man by God, who at first did not know shame at his nakedness, or the innocence of the angels. They are likewise not pointing to the miracle and beauty of the human form as the Classical Art Movement did. Not in this nude figure, which I think is suggestively posed and prominent in its build, a man that looks physically at his peak. It easily suggests this in its execution of form, but is also interpreted solely in this manner due to the context and culture of our times and our world.
In our times, when would a figure like this one ever represent poverty and someone in dire need? Think of the images conjured of Third World Poverty. Not like this.

In addition, the nude man construct appears jarring, because of the grossly misfitting context in which it was placed; its meant to be a celebration of the birth of Our Redeemer! Love, innocence, hope fulfilled…

As I pointed out before, this is not an emaciated, poor and cold man, weathered and/or beaten by the elements and the circumstances of life, now is it?

Every choice an artist makes or someone who approves an artwork, are deliberate.

Apostles:” Salt” not “Sugar”

+A.M.D.G.+

In Matthew 5:13, Jesus is preaching the Beatitudes to his Apostles. After this, he tells them  “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt lose its savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is good for nothing any more but to be cast out, and to be trodden on by men.”

Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger on the 26th November, 1998 at the Synod for Oceania:

“ We know Jesus above all through the Gospels. A deep knowledge and an integral reading of the Gospels is, therefore, fundamental to Christian life. Selective readings of the Gospels – so widespread today – are insufficient. Often, people fabricate a sweet Jesus only, Who accepts everything and everyone, Who doesn’t exclude anyone or anything, and is set up against the Church, which knows not only a Yes, but also a No.

The fact that the Gospel is also a sword which divides (Matthew 10:34) and a fire which burns (Luke 12:49) is no longer mentioned. According to the will of the Lord, the apostles are not the sugar, but the salt of the earth. In other words, a Christianity, from which the truth of the cross disappears, loses its identity. To follow Christ is to follow the Crucifix and precisely in this way we go along the way of love, which is life and opens the gates of true happiness.”

( From: Cardinal Newman Catechist Centre Newsletter , dated 5th April, 1999. Edited by Rev. B.J.H. Tierney)

(N.B. The highlighting in this text is in the original article by Fr.Tierney)

The message for us, and for the Church, is obvious.

We must be the salt of the earth!

Francis And His Errors: “Jesus came into the world to learn how to be a man…”

[Francis said:]

Even though Jesus is God, He “is annihilated, He humbled Himself and became a servant. This is the glory of the Cross of Jesus”. [He added:] ‘Jesus came into the world to learn how to be a man, and by being a man, walk with men. He came into the world to obey, and He obeyed. But he learned this obedience from suffering.” (Homily at Domus Sanctae Marthae , September 15, 2014 – Original complete Spanish text.

Benedict XVI…

…judges Francis’ idea that spiritual direction is a charism of the laity

Priests have the munus docendi, the task of teaching – they must answer the fundamental questions about what we must do in order to do good

An essential part of the priest’s grace is the task of putting others in touch with God
Christ tends his flock through the Pastors of the Church

Every priest is called to help the penitent to walk on the demanding path of holiness

Listening to the confessor’s advice is important for the spiritual journey of the penitent

In the saintly priest, the Christian People recognize the voice of the Good Shepherd

…judges Francis’ idea on adulterine unions

The trials of Christians are indeed numerous, but they must be faithful to God in their marriage

Materialistic ideologies tell us it is absurd to observe God’s commandments

The only joy that fills the human heart comes from God: the cross of Christ

The Church has received from its Founder the mission of showing people the way to true happiness: fidelity to the words of Christ

…judges Francis’ idea on family

An institution of natural law based on the marriage between a man and woman

Marriage has value as a natural institution and as a Sacrament Raised to the dignity of a Sacrament, marriage confers greater splendor and depth to the conjugal bond

The Lord is the centre and heart of the family

The family is a necessary good, fruit of the love and total self-giving within marriage

Today the essential characteristics of Sacramental marriage are misunderstood

Today the crisis of the family impresses upon children an erroneous typology of the family

The natural structure of marriage is the union of a man and a woman – this principle comes from human nature itself and not only from faith

The Radio station 2SM was a Catholic Radio Station in Sydney N SW.

It was very popular – people of all denominations would write in with questions. Some of these would then be selected with answers for the Sunday night show.

Dr. Rumble was a great and motivating speaker. Those were the days when all radio stations had to have a minimum % Christian content. Even certain “hymns” were to be heard regularly – even making the “popular” lists. How times have changed!

Feast of the Guardian Angels – for our times

Feast of the Guardian Angels 2nd October, 2015

This morning at Mass, I thought that the Reading seemed to be especially for us in these end times. Our angels would lead us (just as they did Moses and the Israelites who were in the Desert on their way to the Promised Land.) If we listen to our angel, God will protect us against our enemies.

Epistle (Traditional Latin Mass)  Exodus 23: 20-23

Behold I will send my angel, who shall go before thee,

and keep thee in thy journey,

and bring thee into the place that I have prepared.

Take notice of him, and hear his voice,

and do not think him one to be condemned:

for he will not forgive when thou hast sinned,

and my name is in him.

But if thou wilt hear his voice, and do all that I speak,

I will be an enemy to thy enemies, and will afflict them that afflict thee.

And my angel shall go before thee

St Michael and the cave at Monte Sant’ Angelo

144St Michael first appeared in about the year 490AD.

One day, a nobleman of the area, lost the best bull of his herd. After days of searching he found it kneeling in an inaccessible cave. He couldn’t get near it, so he shopt an arrow, but the arrow turned around and came bavk and hit him.

He was so surprised at thios unusual occurrence that he went straight to the bishop, who ordered him to pray and fast for 3 days.. The Archangel appeared to the Bishop 3 days later and said:

“I am Michael the Archangel and am always in the presence of god. I chose the cave which is sacred to me. There will bw no more shedding of bull’s blood ( referring to a pagan practice in the area). Where the rocks open widely, the sins of man may be pardoned. What is asked here in prayer will be granted. Therefore, go up to the mouintain cave and dedicate it to the Christian cult!!”

The Bishop delayed in obeying the angel’s order because he was undecided.

Two years later, in 492, the Christian city of Siponto at the foot of the mountain, was besieged by pagan hordes. The people were desperate. The Bishop obtained a 3 day truce from the pagans and ordered prayer and penance.

The Archangel appeared to him and promised his help if the townspeople dared to attack the enemy. A severe storm, with sand and hail, rained on the pagan army, which was terrorized and escaped. The town was saved. The Bishop announced a thanksgiving procession and went with the people to the top of the mountain, but he did not venture into the grotto.

On the third anniversary, the Bishop was still not sure if he should follow the angel’s order. He went to the Pope who ordered him to fast for 3 days then go there with other bishops.

St Michael appeared for the third time and ordered him to enter the grotto. The angel said:

“It is not necessary that you dedicate this church that I have consecrated with my presence. Enter and pray with my assistance and celebrate the Sacrifice. I will show you how I have consecrated this place.”

141

The bishop entered the cave and found an altar covered with a red cloth and a crystal cross, and at the entrance was a child’s footprint, which confirmed the presence of the Archangel St Michael.

The bishop had a chapel built at the entrance to the grotto and dedicated it on September 29th. It is the only place that is not consecrated by the hand of man.

Through the centuries, it has been called the ‘celestial Basilica’.

The last apparition was in 1656 in answer to prayer because of the terrible plague that had hit the area. The local Bishop and his people invoked the help of St Michael and the plague stopped.

Being Able to Defend Marriage – Know your Doctrine

Excerpts are from the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

God is the author of marriage:

Part 1, Section 2, Chapter 1, Article 1, Paragraph 6, SubSection 3, Heading 2 372 Man and woman were made “for each other” – … for they are equal as persons (“bone of my bones. . .”) and complementary as masculine and feminine. In marriage God unites them in such a way that, by forming “one flesh”, 245 they can transmit human life: “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth.” 246 By transmitting human life to their descendants, man and woman as spouses and parents co-operate in a unique way in the Creator’s work.

Part 2, Section 2, Chapter 3, Article 7, Heading 1 1602 Sacred Scripture begins with the creation of man and woman in the image and likeness of God and concludes with a vision of “the wedding-feast of the Lamb.” 85 Scripture speaks throughout of marriage and its “mystery,” its institution and the meaning God has given it, its origin and its end…

Part 2, Section 2, Chapter 3, Article 7, Heading 2 1603…. God himself is the author of marriage.” 87 The vocation to marriage is written in the very nature of man and woman as they came from the hand of the Creator….. “The well-being of the individual person and of both human and Christian society is closely bound up with the healthy state of conjugal and family life.” 89

Part 2, Section 2, Chapter 3, Article 7, Heading 4 1609 In his mercy God has not forsaken sinful man. … After the fall, marriage helps to overcome self-absorption, egoism, pursuit of one’s own pleasure, and to open oneself to the other, to mutual aid and to self-giving.

Indissolubility of Marriage

Part 2, Section 2, Chapter 3, Article 7, Heading 4 1610 Moral conscience concerning the unity and indissolubility of marriage developed under the pedagogy of the old law.

Part 2, Section 2, Chapter 3, Article 7, Heading 4 1611 Seeing God’s covenant with Israel in the image of exclusive and faithful married love, the prophets prepared the Chosen People’s conscience for a deepened understanding of the unity and indissolubility of marriage. 102 The books of Ruth and Tobit bear moving witness to an elevated sense of marriage and to the fidelity and tenderness of spouses. Tradition has always seen in the Song of Solomon a unique expression of human love, insofar as it is a reflection of God’s love – a love “strong as death” that “many waters cannot quench.” 103

Part 2, Section 2, Chapter 3, Article 7, Heading 5 …. 105 The Church attaches great importance to Jesus’ presence at the wedding at Cana. She sees in it the confirmation of the goodness of marriage and the proclamation that thenceforth marriage will be an efficacious sign of Christ’s presence.

Part 2, Section 2, Chapter 3, Article 7, Heading 5 1615 … Jesus has not placed on spouses a burden impossible to bear, or too heavy – heavier than the Law of Moses. 108 …It is by following Christ, renouncing themselves, and taking up their crosses that spouses will be able to “receive” the original meaning of marriage and live it with the help of Christ. 109 This grace of Christian marriage is a fruit of Christ’s cross, the source of all Christian life.

Part 3, Section 2, Chapter 2, Article 6, SubSection 4, Heading 2 2382 The Lord Jesus insisted on the original intention of the Creator who willed that marriage be indissoluble. 174 He abrogates the accommodations that had slipped into the old Law. 175 Between the baptized, “a ratified and consummated marriage cannot be dissolved by any human power or for any reason other than death.” 176

Part 3, Section 2, Chapter 2, Article 6, SubSection 4, Heading 2 2384 Divorce is a grave offense against the natural law. It claims to break the contract, to which the spouses freely consented, to live with each other till death. Divorce does injury to the covenant of salvation, of which sacramental marriage is the sign. Contracting a new union, even if it is recognized by civil law, adds to the gravity of the rupture: the remarried spouse is then in a situation of public and permanent adultery:
If a husband, separated from his wife, approaches another woman, he is an adulterer because he makes that woman commit adultery, and the woman who lives with him is an adulteress, because she has drawn another’s husband to herself. 178

Marriage as a Sacrament

Part 2, Section 2, Chapter 3, Article 7, Heading 5 617…. Since it signifies and communicates grace, marriage between baptized persons is a true sacrament of the New Covenant. 112

Part 2, Section 2, Chapter 3, Article 7, Heading 6 1620…. 117 Esteem of virginity for the sake of the kingdom 118 and the Christian understanding of marriage are inseparable, and they reinforce each other:
Whoever denigrates marriage also diminishes the glory of virginity. …

Part 2, Section 2, Chapter 3, Article 7, SubSection 2 1622 “Inasmuch as it is a sacramental action of sanctification, the liturgical celebration of marriage . . . must be, per se, valid, worthy, and fruitful.” 123 It is therefore appropriate for the bride and groom to prepare themselves for the celebration of their marriage by receiving the sacrament of penance.

Part 2, Section 2, Chapter 3, Article 7, SubSection 3 1625 The parties to a marriage covenant are a baptized man and woman, free to contract marriage, who freely express their consent; “to be free” means:
– not being under constraint;
– not impeded by any natural or ecclesiastical law.

Annulment

Part 2, Section 2, Chapter 3, Article 7, SubSection 3 1629 For this reason (or for other reasons that render the marriage null and void) the Church, after an examination of the situation by the competent ecclesiastical tribunal, can declare the nullity of a marriage, i.e., that the marriage never existed. 132 In this case the contracting parties are free to marry, provided the natural obligations of a previous union are discharged. 133

Part 2, Section 2, Chapter 3, Article 7, SubSection 4 1638 “From a valid marriage arises a bond between the spouses which by its very nature is perpetual and exclusive; furthermore, in a Christian marriage the spouses are strengthened and, as it were, consecrated for the duties and the dignity of their state by a special sacrament.” 142

Part 2, Section 2, Chapter 3, Article 7, SubSection 4, Heading 1 1640 Thus the marriage bond has been established by God himself in such a way that a marriage concluded and consummated between baptized persons can never be dissolved. This bond, which results from the free human act of the spouses and their consummation of the marriage, is a reality, henceforth irrevocable, and gives rise to a covenant guaranteed by God’s fidelity. The Church does not have the power to contravene this disposition of divine wisdom. 146

Part 2, Section 2, Chapter 3, Article 7, SubSection 5, Heading 2 1646 By its very nature conjugal love requires the inviolable fidelity of the spouses. This is the consequence of the gift of themselves which they make to each other. Love seeks to be definitive; it cannot be an arrangement “until further notice.” The “intimate union of marriage, as a mutual giving of two persons, and the good of the children, demand total fidelity from the spouses and require an unbreakable union between them.”

Divorce and remarriage

Part 2, Section 2, Chapter 3, Article 7, SubSection 5, Heading 2 1650…. In fidelity to the words of Jesus Christ – “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another, commits adultery against her; and if she divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery” 160 the Church maintains that a new union cannot be recognized as valid, if the first marriage was. If the divorced are remarried civilly, they find themselves in a situation that objectively contravenes God’s law. Consequently, they cannot receive Eucharistic communion as long as this situation persists. For the same reason, they cannot exercise certain ecclesial responsibilities. Reconciliation through the sacrament of Penance can be granted only to those who have repented for having violated the sign of the covenant and of fidelity to Christ, and who are committed to living in complete continence.

Part 2, Section 2, Chapter 3, Article 7, SubSection 6 1664 Unity, indissolubility, and openness to fertility are essential to marriage. …divorce separates what God has joined together; the refusal of fertility turns married life away from its “supreme gift,” the child (GS 50 § 1).

Part 2, Section 2, Chapter 3, Article 7, SubSection 6 1665 The remarriage of persons divorced from a living, lawful spouse contravenes the plan and law of God as taught by Christ. They are not separated from the Church, but they cannot receive Eucharistic communion. They will lead Christian lives especially by educating their children in the faith.

Part 3, Section 2, Chapter 2, Article 6, SubSection 4, Heading 1 2381 Adultery is an injustice. He who commits adultery fails in his commitment. He does injury to the sign of the covenant which the marriage bond is, transgresses the rights of the other spouse, and undermines the institution of marriage by breaking the contract on which it is based. …

Duties and responsibilities of civil authority

Part 3, Section 2, Chapter 2, Article 4, SubSection 2 2210 The importance of the family for the life and well-being of society 13 entails a particular responsibility for society to support and strengthen marriage and the family. Civil authority should consider it a grave duty “to acknowledge the true nature of marriage and the family, to protect and foster them, to safeguard public morality, and promote domestic prosperity.” 14

Part 3, Section 2, Chapter 2, Article 4, SubSection 2 2211 The political community has a duty to honor the family, to assist it, and to ensure especially:
– the freedom to establish a family, have children, and bring them up in keeping with the family’s own moral and religious convictions;
the protection of the stability of the marriage bond and the institution of the family;
– the freedom to profess one’s faith, to hand it on, and raise one’s children in it, with the necessary means and institutions;
– the right to private property, to free enterprise, to obtain work and housing, and the right to emigrate;
– in keeping with the country’s institutions, the right to medical care, assistance for the aged, and family benefits;
– the protection of security and health, especially with respect to dangers like drugs, pornography, alcoholism, etc.;
– the freedom to form associations with other families and so to have representation before civil authority. 15

Living together before Marriage

Part 3, Section 2, Chapter 2, Article 6, SubSection 2, Heading 3 2350 Those who are engaged to marry are called to live chastity in continence. They should see in this time of testing a discovery of mutual respect, an apprenticeship in fidelity, and the hope of receiving one another from God. They should reserve for marriage the expressions of affection that belong to married love. They will help each other grow in chastity.

Part 3, Section 2, Chapter 2, Article 6, SubSection 4, Heading 3 2390 In a so-called free union, a man and a woman refuse to give juridical and public form to a liaison involving sexual intimacy.
The expression “free union” is fallacious: what can “union” mean when the partners make no commitment to one another, each exhibiting a lack of trust in the other, in himself, or in the future?
The expression covers a number of different situations: concubinage, rejection of marriage as such, or inability to make long-term commitments. 183 All these situations offend against the dignity of marriage; they destroy the very idea of the family; they weaken the sense of fidelity. They are contrary to the moral law. The sexual act must take place exclusively within marriage. Outside of marriage it always constitutes a grave sin and excludes one from sacramental communion.

Part 3, Section 2, Chapter 2, Article 6, SubSection 4, Heading 3 2391 Some today claim a “right to a trial marriage” where there is an intention of getting married later. However firm the purpose of those who engage in premature sexual relations may be, “the fact is that such liaisons can scarcely ensure mutual sincerity and fidelity in a relationship between a man and a woman, nor, especially, can they protect it from inconstancy of desires or whim.” 184 Carnal union is morally legitimate only when a definitive community of life between a man and woman has been established. Human love does not tolerate “trial marriages.” It demands a total and definitive gift of persons to one another. 185

Dignity of Marriage

Part 3, Section 2, Chapter 2, Article 6, SubSection 4, Heading 3 2400 Adultery, divorce, polygamy, and free union are grave offenses against the dignity of marriage.

Mary Queen Of The Angels Leads The Fight Against Demons And The Powers Of Hell.

10th August 2015

Feast Day: August 2nd.

An article in’ Family Life International Australia Ltd’ (August 2015) laments society’s “descent into the abyss”. It explains that we cannot fight this fight on our own. Following is a story that explains why we must ask our Blessed Mother, under the title of “Queen of the Angels” to ask her help in fighting these demons.

The story:

“In 1863 a Bernardine Sister was shown in spirit the vast desolation caused by the Devil throughout the world. At the same time, she heard the Blessed Virgin telling her it was true, Hell had been let loose upon the earth, and that the time had come to pray to her as Queen of Angels and to ask of her the assistance of the Heavenly Legions to fight against these deadly foes of God and men.

“But, my good Mother,” she replied, “you who are so kind, could you not send them without our asking

“No,” Our Lady answered, “because prayer is one of the conditions required by God Himself for obtaining favors.”

Then the Blessed Virgin communicated the following prayer, bidding her to have it printed and distribute it everywhere.

The Prayer:

August Queen of Heaven, sovereign Mistress of the Angels, who didst receive from the beginning the mission and the power to crush the Serpent’s head, we beseech thee to send thy holy Angels, that under thy command and by thy power, they may pursue the evil spirits, encounter them on every side, resist their bold attacks, and drive them hence into the abyss of woe.

Most holy Mother, send thy Angels to defend us and to drive the cruel enemy from us. All ye holy Angels and Archangels help and defend us. “

This prayer has a partial indulgence attached to it.

Quotes:

(Bishop Fulton Sheen): “How shall we overcome the Spirit of Satan except by the power of that woman to whom Almighty God has given the mandate to crush the head of the serpent.”

(St. Bonaventure): “Oh, how fearful is Mary to the Devils!”

Australian Bishops take action!!

  • Cardinal George Pell criticizes Pope Francis’ encyclical stating  “But the church has no particular expertise in science … the church has got no mandate from the Lord to pronounce on scientific matters. We believe in the autonomy of science,” Pell told the Financial Times on Thursday (July 16).

Until now, Pell had remained quiet on the contents of the encyclical, despite gaining a reputation in Australia as a climate change denier. In 2011, he clashed with the then-head of Australia’s Bureau of Meteorology, Greg Ayers, who said Pell was “misled” in his climate change views

  • The Australian Bishops’ Conference released a  9 page booklet on 28th May, entitled “Don’t Mess with Marriage”, which was distributed to all parishes and to all Catholic schools in various states.
  • Archbishop Anthony Fisher OP, on 12th July, celebrated the inaugural Annual Marriage Mass with Renewal of Vows at St Mary’s Cathedral in Sydney.

Following are excerpts of his homily:

… In our first reading today, the Prophet Amos is warned to get out of Bethel because the locals would tolerate his prophesying no longer (Am 7:12-15). So too the stories of the couples celebrating significant anniversaries at this time are “signs of contradiction” for our prevailing culture. Marriage, as traditionally understood, … meant a comprehensive bodily, psychological and spiritual union between a man and a woman whereby they become “one flesh” and so found a family. That’s why these couples did not promise to become ‘spouses’ or ‘partners’ but to become ‘husband’ and a ‘wife’. That’s why they promised to be faithful (‘for better, for worse’, ‘to the exclusion of all others’) and fruitful (open to new life) and final (indissoluble, ’till death do us part’). These dimensions of real marriage make it a prophetic sign today, a sign of contradiction, because some want to reduce marriage to no more than a public statement of a physical-emotional bond between any two people. …. Marriage brings together and attempts to hold together things that otherwise tend to fall apart: man and woman, sex and love, love and babies, parents and children…

But there are voices in our culture that no longer think marriage need be for life, or be open to children, or be exclusive, or be between man and wife. They write off as benighted and bigoted those who stand by marriage as traditionally understood. As a result Christian couples today can find themselves in a position like Amos; so too can faithful pastors and single people who stand by them and the institution of marriage. This can be an uncomfortable position, for some politically, culturally and commercially powerful forces are determined to silence any alternative to the politically correct position in this matter; to bully us all into accepting the deconstruction and redefinition of a fundamental institution; and to relegate questions of what marriage is and is for as secondary to an homogenizing ‘equality’.

… So real marriage illuminates our understanding of the Christ-to-Church relationship. In turn, it strengthens our resolve to support marriages, so they really can be faithful, fruitful, final unions of people of opposite sex, while also supporting and loving people in other situations too. Thank-you dear married couples for your prophetic role in teaching us all how to love and to bear witness to Christ. May God bless you abundantly! May you all reach 75 years of marriage and die in each others arms!

  • Australia’s bishops reaffirm marriage – and get reported to governmentBy Kevin J. Jones See for full article: http://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/australias-bishops-reaffirm-marriage-and-get-reported-to-government-54284/
Hobart, Tasmania, Jul 8, 2015 / 03:04 am (CNA/EWTN News).- In a recent pastoral letter on marriage, Australia’s Catholic bishops reaffirmed Catholic teaching. And one of the bishops has countered a leading same-sex marriage activist who said the pastoral letter should be reported to the Tasmanian government for illegal bias.

“The Catholic Church in Tasmania is exercising its right to freedom of opinion, just as opponents to the Church’s views on marriage are also exercising their rights,” Archbishop Julian Porteous of Hobart said, according to the Catholic Leader newspaper.

His comments concern the booklet “Don’t Mess with Marriage,” a pastoral letter the Australian bishops’ conference released May 28. He said the booklet “explains the meaning of marriage enshrined in our laws from a religious perspective.”

Australian political leaders are considering whether to define marriage in law to recognize same-sex unions as civil marriages.

“A document defending the current law in our nation could hardly be called discrimination,” Archbishop Porteous said.

“We are being asked to abandon the plan of God for marriage and family (and) this would be a disastrous step to take.”

The pastoral letter was sent home with students of Catholic high schools in several archdioceses, including Hobart. It stressed both respect for all and respect for the unique nature of marriage as a union of man and a woman.

Randy Croome, national director of the gay marriage advocacy group Australian Marriage Equality, claimed the booklet is illegal under the law of the Australian state of Tasmania. His group cited laws that bar offensive conduct, inciting hatred, and publishing notices that promote or express discrimination.

“The booklet likely breaches the Anti-Discrimination Act and I urge everyone who finds it offensive and inappropriate, including teachers, parents and students, to complain to the Anti-Discrimination Commissioner,” Croome said June 24.

A formal complaint against the archbishop has been filed with the commissioner, according to the newspaper The Australian.

Lyle Shelton, a spokesman for the non-denominational group The Christian Lobby, said Croome’s effort was an “outrageous” attempt to “dictate what a private religious school can and cannot say about marriage.”

“Where have we come to as a society when the political activists for redefining marriage want to use the law to stop children in religious schools from being taught that religion’s teaching?” he said June 25.

“If a family sends their child to a Christian school they should not be surprised if their children are taught the faith and morals of the school’s religious identity.”

Australian Marriage Equality has attracted powerful allies in its push to redefine marriage. These include major businesses such as Google. Polls indicate a majority of Australians at present support redefining marriage.

“Also we see schools as part of the evangelizing mission of the Church, not apart from it,” he told the Catholic Leader. He said advocacy of marriage redefinition is “saturating mainstream and social media.”

“There is very little given to the opposing viewpoint,” he said.

The pastoral letter itself rejected claims that Australian law and Catholic teaching on marriage wrongly discriminate.

“If marriage is an institution designed to support people of the opposite sex to be faithful to each other and to the children of their union it is not discrimination to reserve it to them,” the bishops wrote. They compared marriage to programs that specially target Aborigines, refugees, children, athletes, and those with disabilities.

“As Christians we must be willing to present the truth about marriage, family and sexuality and to do so charitably and lovingly.”
