Reflections on Hezekiah & Sennacherib:
Several things struck me in both the readings which God provided for us in our prayer group on Thursday 16th August, 2018. (See our post at:

Every Bible reading has relevance both yesterday, today and tomorrow and we will see and understand the relevance for us- as long as we are receptive to God opening our eyes. God intervenes, and is in, every situation.
The Bible reading about Hezekiah reminded me of what had transpired in relation to a faithful priest and a dissident bishop only a few days beforehand. The elderly priest (of ‘proven fidelity’) has written and spoken openly from the pulpit about the threats to our faith and true Church Teachings, including identifying those speaking heresy right at the top.
When he wrote about the sad state of affairs in his bulletin, a parishioner decided to complain to the Bishop that Father X had criticised the Pope.
Our bishop lately has been on a vigorous campaign of change for the church which includes accepting more than just the peoples affected by same-sex attraction; but their sexual acts and lives as well. He is determined to be a man after Pope Francis’ own mould in more ways than one… He has already sent into obscurity the only other priest of sound doctrine that has stood up to him (that we know of). Notably in connection with our second reading, that banished priest was targeted, among other things, for celebrating the traditional Latin Mass.
So when the bishop wrote that he now wanted to interview this elderly, faithful priest about his bulletin, we were alerted and wanted to know what we could do to help! Our network is a large one and word gets around quickly. This reminded me of King Sennacherib threatening to invade Hezekiah’s city and intending to breach and approach with the intention of attacking. We were afraid that he would take this priest’s Parish and force him in to retirement or obscurity; probably with little warning or explanation, which would also leave the parishioners fearful and scandalized. Like sheep without their shepherd, wondering who would be next.
So how were we to help?
Firstly, a large force was gathered. All those notified of the situation began to surround the PP, the Bishop and the situation with prayer. All those able, (some of whom do not even attend the Parish, but who are JtM prayer group members) assembled at the Parish at the intended appointed time of the Bishop’s ‘visit’ to give him support;- whether that was to be silently or through testimonies and witness. The parish priest was going to be left in no doubt as to how much support he really had.
But in the meantime, the priest had formed and sent his defence by letter, where he reminded the Bishop of just how long he had watched over this Parish, how many seminarians his faithful Parish had cultivated this year alone and how he would hate to think that they and so many of his beloved parishioners (past and present) might be tempted to think ill of the Bishop if he acted rashly. He reminded him of the higher authorities to which he could appeal, if needed- including our good Archbishop. In other words, the parish priest summoned his faithful army, strengthened his defences and carefully prepared his weapons.
As reinforcements arrived that morning, it was clear that the immediate threat had been vanquished as the ‘visit’ had been called off. However, delighted to see all the faithful supporters the parish priest (PP) graciously invited them all in and conducted a tour of his home with stories and photos of all the good bishops and archbishops, he had known, as well as good priests, and battles he had fought before with ‘the hippies’. He was jovial and confident in the Lord, clearly intending to stand his ground and not to forsake The Lord or his post in the dangers threatening the Church and His flock. This lasted not a short time either; he spent the better part of the morning talking to them. He reminded them Whom the faithful have on their side; the Lord God Almighty! All those gathered were amazed by his strength and his faith, and left joyfully, having taken great confidence from his words.
If you read the Bible reading we opened upon, at prayer group 2 days later, I think you will see the comparisons and how God was pointing us to what had happened and how to stand firm in all the battles ahead- relying on the Lord God alone.

Sennacherib’s Invasion.
But after all this and all Hezekiah’s fidelity, there came Sennacherib, king of Assyria. He invaded Judah and besieged the fortified cities, intending to breach and take them.When Hezekiah saw that Sennacherib was coming with the intention of attacking Jerusalem, he took the advice of his princes and warriors to stop the waters of the springs outside the city; they promised their help. A large force was gathered and stopped all the springs and also the stream running nearby. For they said, “Why should the kings of Assyria come and find an abundance of water?” He then looked to his defenses: he rebuilt the wall where it was broken down, raised towers upon it, and built another wall outside. He strengthened the Millo of the City of David and made a great number of spears and shields. Then he appointed army commanders over the people. He gathered them together in his presence in the open space at the gate of the city and encouraged them with these words: “Be strong and steadfast; do not be afraid or dismayed because of the king of Assyria and all the horde coming with him, for there is more with us than with him. He has only an arm of flesh, but we have the LORD, our God, to help us and to fight our battles.” And the people took confidence from the words of Hezekiah, king of Judah.

My dear children, this is going to be a time of great trials in your faith. The Catholic Church will be the Church in which the great division will commence. It will be in this Church that My Son’s priests will suffer the most, during the great apostasy, which it will, very soon, have to endure from within.
To those of my Son’s faithful priests, who will be torn in two by indecision, you must be aware of the need to remain in union with the Merciful Christ. You must never feel tempted to desert His Church, by accepting falsities from those amongst you who have fallen into grave error. You must revere my Son at all costs and lead His people on the path to holiness, no matter how difficult this will be for you.
Those of you who will continue to perform the traditional Mass will be tormented until you agree to abandon it entirely. Many amongst your religious orders will betray you to the enemy behind your back. You will, just like my Son before you, be taken before those who claim to be your peers and be accused of heresy, for insisting on continuing to show respect for the most Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.
The new words, which will amount to the most vile desecration of my Son’s Body, will be forced down upon those sacred servants who dare to object.
It will be within the Catholic Church that brother will fight brother, sister against sister, father against son, children against parent, until there are two sides.
This war, to uphold the Word of God, will mean that those priests, who do remain true to Him, will have to seek refuge. To do this you must start preparing and find such places where you will be able to offer the Holy Mass and provide the Sacraments to God’s children.
I, the Mother of Salvation, will protect such refuges and by the placement of the Seal of the Living God, given to the world by My Father, on the inside walls, they will remain invisible to the enemies of God.
Do not be afraid of these things, because if you prepare well, you will lead God’s children to salvation. Should you not heed this warning, you will be taken captive in mind, body and soul, by the enemies of my Son and salvation will not be yours.
Those who do the bidding of the false prophet will need much prayer, for some of them are blind to the Truth. Others, who will know the Truth, but who will side with those who will deny my Son’s death on the Cross, are to be feared. They will inflict terrible harm on the innocent followers of Christ.
By remaining loyal to the Truth, you will lead my Son’s Remnant Army, so that it becomes a formidable force, against the evil one and those he directs in his fight against my Son’s true servants on Earth.
You must, when the time comes, refuse to accept direction from those who will desecrate the Word of God and through their lies and new obscene doctrines, will mislead many. Those who accept any distortion of the Mass or the Holy Sacraments, will be answerable to my Son. For you will have become, unwitting, servants to the evil one and many, many, souls will be lost, for they will be drawn into rituals, which will pay homage to Satan. These rituals will honour the false prophet and the antichrist, who are enemies of God.
Pray, pray, pray that the Truth will be seen and that lies will be exposed for what they are – an affront to my Son’s agonizing Crucifixion.
