Bp.Schneider: Interview – “Traditionis Custodes”

Interview with Diane Montagna – July 23, 2021

Your Excellency, Pope Francis’ new apostolic letter, issued motu proprio on July 16, 2021, is called “Traditionis Custodes” (Guardians of Tradition). What was your initial impression of the choice of this title?

My initial impression was of a shepherd who instead of having the smell of his sheep, is angrily beating them with a stick.

What are your general impressions of the Motu Proprio and of Pope Francis’ accompanying Letter to the bishops of the world, in which he explains his rationale for restricting the Traditional Latin Mass?

In his programmatic Apostolic Exhortation, Evangelii Gaudium, Pope Francis advocates “certain attitudes which foster openness to the message: approachability, readiness for dialogue, patience, a warmth and welcome which is non-judgmental” (n. 165). Yet in reading the new Motu Proprio and accompanying Letter, one has the opposite impression, namely, that the document, as a whole, exhibits a pastoral intolerance and even spiritual rigidity. The Motu Proprio and accompanying Letter communicate a judgmental and unwelcoming spirit. In the document on Human Fraternity (signed in Abu Dhabi on February 4, 2019), Pope Francis embraces the “diversity of religions,” whereas in his new Motu Proprio he resolutely rejects the diversity of liturgical forms in the Roman Rite.

What a glaring contrast in attitude this Motu Proprio presents, compared to the guiding principle of Pope Francis’ pontificate, i.e., inclusiveness and a preferential love for minorities and those on the peripheries in the life of the Church. And what an astonishingly narrow-minded stance one discovers in the Motu Proprio, in contrast to Pope Francis’s own words: “We know that we are tempted in various ways to adopt the logic of privilege that separates, excludes and closes us off, while separating, excluding and closing off the dreams and lives of so many of our brothers and sisters” (Homily at the Vespers, December 31, 2016). The new norms of the Motu Proprio demean the millennial form of the lex orandi of the Roman Church and, at the same time, close off “the dreams and lives of so many” Catholic families, and especially of young people and young priests, whose spiritual lives and love for Christ and the Church have grown and greatly benefited from the traditional form of the Holy Mass

The Motu Proprio establishes a principle of a rare liturgical exclusivity, by stating that the new promulgated liturgical books are the only [unica] expression of the lex orandi of the Roman Rite (Art. 1). What a contrast this position, too, is with these words of Pope Francis: “It is true that the Holy Spirit brings forth different charisms in the Church, which at first glance, may seem to create disorder. Under his guidance, however, they constitute an immense richness, because the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of unity, which is not the same thing as uniformity” (Homily of Pope Francis at the Catholic Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, Istanbul, Saturday, November 29, 2014).

What are your greatest concerns about the new document?

As a bishop, one of my chief concerns is that, instead of fostering a greater unity by the coexistence of diverse authentic liturgical forms, the Motu Proprio creates a two-class society in the Church, i.e. first-class Catholics and second-class Catholics. The privileged first-class are those who adhere to the reformed liturgy, i.e. the Novus Ordo, and the second-class Catholics, who will now barely be tolerated, include a large number of Catholic families, children, young people and priests who, in the last decades, have grown up in the traditional liturgy and experienced, with great spiritual benefit, the reality and mystery of the Church thanks to this liturgical form, which earlier generations held as sacred and which formed so many saints and outstanding Catholics throughout history.

The Motu Proprio and accompanying letter commit an injustice against all Catholics who adhere to the traditional liturgical form, by accusing them of being divisive and of rejecting the Second Vatican Council. In fact, a considerable portion of these Catholics keep far away from doctrinal discussions regarding Vatican II, the new Order of Mass (Novus Ordo Missae), and other problems involving ecclesiastical politics. They just want to worship God in the liturgical form through which God has touched and transformed their hearts and lives. The argument invoked in the Motu Proprio and accompanying letter, i.e., that the traditional liturgical form creates division and threatens the unity of the Church, is disproven by the facts. Furthermore, the disparaging tone taken in these documents against the traditional liturgical form would lead any impartial observer to conclude that such arguments are merely a pretext and a ruse, and that something else is at play here.

How convincing do you find Pope Francis’ comparison (in his accompanying letter to bishops) between his new measures and those adopted by St Pius V in 1570?

The time of Second Vatican Council and the so-called “conciliar” Church has been characterized by an openness to a diversity and inclusivity of spiritualities and local liturgical expressions, along with a rejection of the principle of a uniformity in the liturgical praxis of the Church. Throughout history, the true pastoral attitude has been one of tolerance and respect towards a diversity of liturgical forms, provided they express the integrity of the Catholic Faith, the dignity and sacredness of the ritual forms, and that they bear true spiritual fruit in the lives of the faithful. In the past, the Roman Church acknowledged the diversity of expressions in its lex orandi. In the apostolic constitution promulgating the Tridentine Liturgy, Quo Primum (1570), Pope Pius V, in approving all those liturgical expressions of the Roman Church that were more than two hundred years old, recognized them as an equally worthy and legitimate expression of the lex orandi of the Roman Church. In this bull, Pope Pius V stated that he in no wise rescinds other legitimate liturgical expressions within the Roman Church. The liturgical form of the Roman Church that was valid until the reform of Paul VI did not arise with Pius V, but was substantially unchanged even centuries before the Council of Trent. The first printed edition of the Missale Romanum dates back to 1470, thus one hundred years before the missal published by Pius V. The order of Mass of both missals is almost identical; the difference lies more in secondary elements, such as the calendar, number of prefaces, and more precise rubrical norms.

Pope Francis’ new Motu Proprio is also deeply concerning in that it manifests an attitude of discrimination against an almost one thousand-year-old liturgical form of the Catholic Church. The Church has never rejected that which, over the span of many centuries, has expressed sacredness, doctrinal precision and spiritual richness, and been exalted by many popes, great theologians (e.g. St Thomas Aquinas) and numerous saints. The peoples of Western and, in part, of Eastern Europe, of Northern and Southern Europe, of the Americas, Africa, and Asia were evangelized and doctrinally and spiritually formed by the traditional Roman Rite, and these peoples found in that rite their spiritual and liturgical home. Pope John Paul II gave an example of a sincere appreciation of the traditional form of the Mass, when he said: “In the Roman Missal, called ‘of St. Pius V,’ as in various Eastern Liturgies, there are beautiful prayers with which the priest expresses the deepest sense of humility and reverence before the holy mysteries: they reveal the very substance of any liturgy” (Message to Participants in the Plenary Assembly of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, September 21, 2001).

It would go against the true spirit of the Church of all ages to now express contempt for this liturgical form, to label it as “divisive” and as something dangerous for the unity of the Church, and to issue norms aimed at making this form disappear in time. The norms enshrined in Pope Francis’ Motu Proprio seek to unmercifully rip out of the souls and lives of so many Catholics the traditional liturgy, which in itself is holy and represents the spiritual homeland of these Catholics. With this Motu Proprio, Catholics who today have been spiritually nourished and formed by the traditional liturgy of Holy Mother Church, will no longer experience the Church as a mother but rather as a “stepmother,” consistent with Pope Francis’ own description: “A mother who criticizes, who speaks ill of her children is not a mother! I believe you say “stepmother” in Italian…. She isn’t a mother” (Address to Consecrated Men and Women of the diocese of Rome, May 16, 2015)

Pope Francis’ apostolic letter was issued on the feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, patroness of Carmelites (such as St. Thérèse of Lisieux), who pray especially for priests. In light of the new measures, what would you say to diocesan seminarians and young priests who had hoped to celebrate the Traditional Latin Mass?

Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger spoke about the limitation of the powers of the pope regarding the liturgy, with this illuminating explanation: “The pope is not an absolute monarch whose will is law; rather, he is the guardian of the authentic Tradition and, thereby, the premier guarantor of obedience. He cannot do as he likes, and he is thereby able to oppose those people who, for their part, want to do whatever comes into their head. His rule is not that of arbitrary power, but that of obedience in faith. That is why, with respect to the Liturgy, he has the task of a gardener, not that of a technician who builds new machines and throws the old ones on the junk-pile. The “rite”, that form of celebration and prayer which has ripened in the faith and the life of the Church, is a condensed form of living Tradition in which the sphere using that rite expresses the whole of its faith and its prayer, and thus at the same time the fellowship of generations one with another becomes something we can experience, fellowship with the people who pray before us and after us. Thus the rite is something of benefit that is given to the Church, a living form of paradosis, the handing-on of Tradition.” (Preface to “The Organic Development of the Liturgy.  The Principles of Liturgical Reform and Their Relation to the Twentieth-century Liturgical Movement Prior to the Second Vatican Council” by Dom Alcuin Reid, San Francisco 2004).

The traditional Mass is a treasure that belongs to the entire Church, since it has been celebrated and deeply regarded and loved by priests and saints for at least a thousand years. In fact, the traditional form of the Mass was almost identical for centuries before the publication of the Missal of Pope Pius V in 1570. An almost one thousand-year-old valid and highly esteemed liturgical treasure is not the private property of a pope, which he can freely dispose of. Therefore, seminarians and young priests must ask for the right to use this common treasure of the Church, and should they be denied this right, they can use it nevertheless, perhaps in a clandestine manner. This would not be an act of disobedience, but rather of obedience to Holy Mother Church, who has given us this liturgical treasure. The firm rejection of an almost one thousand-year-old liturgical form by Pope Francis represents, in fact, a short-lived phenomenon compared to the constant spirit and praxis of the Church.

Your Excellency, what has been your impression thus far of the implementation of “Traditionis Custodes”?

Within a few short days, diocesan bishops and even an entire bishops’ conference have already begun a systematic suppression of any celebration of the traditional form of the Holy Mass. These new “liturgy-inquisitors” have displayed an astonishingly rigid clericalism, similar to that described and lamented by Pope Francis, when he said: “There is that spirit of clericalism in the Church, which one feels: the clerics feel themselves superior, the clerics turn away from the people, the clerics always say: ‘this is done like this, like this, like this, and you go away!’” (Daily meditation in the Holy Mass from December 13, 2016).

Pope Francis’ anti-traditional Motu Proprio shares some similarities with the fateful and extremely rigid liturgical decisions made by the Russian-Orthodox Church under Patriarch Nikon of Moscow between 1652 and 1666. This eventually led to a lasting schism known as the “Old Ritualists” (in Russian: staroobryadtsy), who maintained the liturgical and ritual practices of the Russian Church as they were before the reforms of Patriarch Nikon. Resisting the accommodation of Russian piety to the contemporary forms of Greek Orthodox worship, these Old Ritualists were anathematized, together with their ritual, in a Synod of 1666–67, producing a division between the Old Ritualists and those who followed the state church in its condemnation of the Old Rite. Today the Russian-Orthodox Church regrets the drastic decisions of Patriarch Nikon, for if the norms he implemented had been truly pastoral and allowed the use of the old rite, there would not have been a centuries-long schism, with many unnecessary and cruel sufferings.

In our own day we are witnessing ever more celebrations of the Holy Mass, which have become a platform for promoting the sinful lifestyle of homosexuality—the so called “LGBT-Masses,” an expression which in itself is already a blasphemy. Such Masses are tolerated by the Holy See and many bishops. What is urgently needed is a Motu Proprio with strict norms suppressing the practice of such “LGBT-Masses,” since they are an outrage to the divine majesty, a scandal to the faithful (the little ones), and an injustice towards sexually active homosexual persons, who by such celebrations are confirmed in their sins, and whose eternal salvation is thereby being put in danger.

And yet a number of bishops, particularly in the United States but also elsewhere, such as in France, have supported the faithful of their diocese who are attached to the Traditional Latin Mass. What would you say to encourage these your brother bishops? And what attitude ought the faithful to have toward their bishops, many of whom were themselves surprised by the document?

These bishops have shown a true apostolic and pastoral attitude, as those who are “shepherds with the smell of the sheep.” I would encourage these and many other bishops to continue with such a noble pastoral attitude. Let neither the praises of men nor the fear of men move them, but only the greater glory of God, and the greater spiritual benefit of souls and their eternal salvation. For their part, the faithful should demonstrate toward these bishops, gratitude and filial respect and love.

What effect do you think the Motu Proprio will have?

Pope Francis’s new Motu Proprio is ultimately a pyrrhic victory and will have a boomerang effect. The many Catholic families and ever-growing number of young people and priests—particularly young priests—who attend the traditional Mass, will not be able to allow their conscience to be violated by such a drastic administrative act. Telling these faithful and priests that they must simply be obedient to these norms will ultimately not work with them, because they understand that a call to obedience loses its power when the aim is to suppress the traditional form of the liturgy, the great liturgical treasure of the Roman Church.

In time, a worldwide chain of catacomb-Masses will surely arise, as happens in times of emergency and persecution. We may in fact witness an era of clandestine traditional Masses, similar to that so impressively depicted by Aloysius O’Kelly in his painting, “Mass in Connemara (Ireland) during Penal Times.” Or perhaps we shall live through a time similar to that described by St Basil the Great, when traditional Catholics were persecuted by a liberal Arian episcopate in the fourth century. St. Basil wrote: “The mouths of true believers are dumb, while every blasphemous tongue wags free; holy things are trodden under foot; the better laity shun the churches as schools of impiety; and lift their hands in the deserts with sighs and tears to their Lord in heaven. Even you must have heard what is going on in most of our cities, how our people with wives and children and even our old men stream out before the walls, and offer their prayers in the open air, putting up with all the inconvenience of the weather with great patience, and waiting for help from the Lord” (Letter 92).

The admirable, harmonious and quite spontaneous spread and continuous growth of the traditional form of the Mass, in almost every country of the world, even in the most remote lands, is undoubtedly the work of the Holy Spirit, and a true sign of our time. This form of the liturgical celebration bears true spiritual fruits, especially in the life of the youth and converts to the Catholic Church, since many of the latter were attracted to the Catholic faith precisely by the irradiating power of this treasure of the Church. Pope Francis and the other bishops who will execute his Motu Proprio should earnestly consider the wise counsel of Gamaliel, and ask themselves if they actually are fighting against a work of God: “In the present case I tell you, keep away from these men and let them alone; for if this plan or this undertaking is of men, it will fail; but if it is of God, you will not be able to overthrow them. You might even be found opposing God!” (Acts 5:38-39). May Pope Francis reconsider, with a view to eternity, his drastic and tragic act, and courageously and humbly retract this new Motu Proprio, recalling his own words: “In truth, the Church shows her fidelity to the Holy Spirit in as much as she does not try to control or tame him.” (Homily at the Catholic Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, Istanbul, Saturday, November 29, 2014)

For the time being, many Catholic families, young people and priests on every continent are now weeping, for the Pope—their spiritual father—has deprived them of the spiritual nourishment of the traditional Mass, which has so greatly strengthened their faith and their love for God, for Holy Mother Church and for the Apostolic See. They may, for a time, “[go] out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, but they shall come home with shouts of joy, bringing his sheaves with them” (Psalm 126:6).

These families, young people and priests could address to Pope Francis these or similar words: “Most Holy Father, give us back that great liturgical treasure of the Church. Do not treat us as your second-class children.Do not violate our consciences by forcing us into a single and exclusive liturgical form, you who always proclaimed to the entire world the necessity of diversity, pastoral accompaniment, and of respect for conscience. Do not listen to those representatives of a rigid clericalism who counseled you to carry out such an unmerciful action. Be a true family father, who “brings out of his treasure what is new and what is old” (Mt 13:52). If you will hear our voice, on the day of your judgment before God, we will be your best intercessors.

The False Prophet and Civil Unions.

AM+DG

As always, this has caused a stir, as is the case with everything he says.

Many of us are no longer surprised at anything this man says, but there are always those trying to defend him. These people have perhaps not noticed that he never defends himself. If it weren’t true, surely a good faithful pope would be very quick to clarify and clear the air, so that the church and its Teachings may not be harmed. ( By the way, silence and ignoring situations, are a deliberate strategy.)

Not only bishops, but many priests are jumping up to defend the true teachings of the Church. And so they should. It’s their job! Woe betide, any one who just ignores it, and does not try to save their flock from the wolves.

This time, a particular parish priest wrote in his bulletin about the pope and civil unions:

+++++++++++++++++++++++

“… Far from backing down on the proposal for the recognition of homosexual civil unions, it seems Francis is doubling down. The allegedly independent media office, “Rome Reports” – … reliable mouthpiece for Francis – published this piece on Thursday: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XyKBCqKeYNE

It should also be noted that in the documentary, Francis implicitly approves adoption by same sex “couples”, and the consequent redefinition of the family.

I especially commend to your prayerful study the following statements by (respectively) Archbishop Viganò, Cardinal Burke, and Bishop Schneider, each of whom affirms and defends the unchangeable Catholic teaching on the impossibility of homosexual civil unions, both from Divine Revelation and the natural order accessible to reason:

https://www.lifesitenews.com/opinion/archbishop-vigano-responds-to-new-film-in-which-pope-endorses-homosexual-civil-unions

https://www.cardinalburke.com/presentations/statement-pope-francis-civil-unions

https://edwardpentin.co.uk/bishop-schneider-to-pope-francis-for-sake-of-your-soul-retract-approval-of-same-sex-civil-unions/

For those who had not already recognised it, this latest development demonstrates what should already have been clear, at least from the appearance of Amoris Laetitia: that there is a determination in this Pope to accommodate the sexual revolution and all that goes with it. The Catholic line that had been maintained in Humanae Vitae and Veritatis Splendor had to be surrendered, in Francis’s view. But having openly abandoned the Catholic teaching – which is simply non-negotiable for anyone who wishes to be actually Catholic, and not just in name – does Francis not understand that he has actually destroyed his own moral authority and credibility?

And that’s not all. Pastors who care about souls more than their own careers could relate the enormous pain experienced by those who accept the saving truth of Christ, and who are struggling with the help of God’s grace to break with sexual sins that have enslaved them. They do not want to be patronised by a false reassurance from Francis or anyone else that they are fine as they are, and don’t need to convert their lives. These souls are deeply demoralised and wounded by the serpentine mendacity of false compassion.

Then there is the obvious question: how can you reject traditional sexual morality and objective moral norms, but still oppose sexual abuse? Answer: you can’t!

One other thing. The documentary was released as Italy stands poised to adopt legislation that could render criticism of the homosexual agenda a hate crime, punishable by up to 4 years’ imprisonment…. Surprised? One shouldn’t be, considering that on Thursday Francis’s Vatican betrayed the faithful underground Catholics of China yet again, by extending its agreement with (by which I mean “surrender to”) the Communist government. After all, Xi Jinping and Francis have a lot in common: the suppression of inconvenient truths and people. It’s dangerous these days to be Catholic, wherever you are on the planet.

Let us pray for the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and the reign of Christ the King.

(signed, Fr. …)”

There should be more “Sacred servants” like this. We must thank God, and continually pray for our priests and bishops. Remember we are at war with unseen forces. We can’t ignore everything and just hide away and wait to see what happens. This is a time like no other in the Churchg, and some are only just beginning to see this.

We must be grateful, to Abp. Vigano and Bp. Schneider, who are taking up the fight, and the job of leading the faithful.

The Importance of the Eucharist: Part 2 – What did Vatican II do to belief in the True Presence?

AM+DG

CCC on the Eucharist:

No. 1324: The Eucharist is ‘the source and summit of the Christian life.(Lumen Gentium 11) The other sacraments, and indeed all ecclesiastical ministeries and works of the apostolate, are bound up with the Eucharist and are oriented toward it. For in the blessed Eucharist is contained the whole spiritual good of the Church, namely Christ himself, our Pasch.”

Part 2:

Pope Leo XIII

A very important figure is Pope Leo XIII who went into ecstasy after celebrating Mass one day in 1884. It was on the 13th October, exactly 33 years before the miracle at Fatima. His famous vision foretells the enemies and persecution of the Church, taking place today, which all relate to the Eucharist. It is appropriate that his ecstasy was after celebrating Mass, and that he composed the St Michael Prayer and made it mandatory– to be said after every Mass.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

This brings us to these end times.

A Personal Testimony:

“It all began with Vatican II.

It was all about the Eucharist, but it was supposed to be a “pastoral council”, but in reality this “pastoral” concern was a veil, hiding the destruction which would follow.

At the time, we thought a Mass in the vernacular did not seem harmful, but the bishops went further than the Vatican II documents detailed. Not only did they change the Mass into the vernacular, they changed the prayers and even omitted them, and inserted new ones. The High Altars were removed in many churches and tables used for the celebration of Mass. The priest was called the “presider. The tabernacle was very often removed from the centre of the church. This meant that our gaze was now upon the priest, whose chair was now in the centre, rather than on Our Lord.

People stopped genuflecting, people often just give a little nod, or perhaps a bow. They (we) began treating Jesus like just any other person. We would shake hands and turn our backs and smile and even speak to the people behind, beside and around us – at a time when Jesus has just become present Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity in the Eucharist. This was during the handshake of ‘peace’. But it did not feel like Christ’s Peace that he sends to His Apostles. It felt (still feels) like people congratulating or saying hi to one another. It takes our attention off Christ. Where is the sense of the Sacredness of the Mystery? Where is the honour due to the King of Heaven and Earth?

I was one of the people who was fooled. I was young, I thought it was okay. I even became a Eucharistic Minister and thought I was serving the Church. But I began to question Communion in the hand. I found the Liturgy had not stopped changing, years after the changes began. One day, the priest did something unthinkable at a “Children’s liturgy” I couldn’t handle it any more and I went searching. When I eventually found the Latin Mass (I thought it didn’t exist anymore) I felt like I was home.

All was as it should be. The congregation do not chat before or after Mass or need to be reminded to be silent, or to genuflect. Even the children are not a problem. Toddlers absorb the atmosphere. If they are noisy, parents sit where they can take the child outside for a bit, or down the back and then come back in. And we have sermons that teach us about Doctrine and Virtues, and Saints and Teachings of the Church.” (RD)

Another Personal Testimony:

“I had not been brought up, or even born, at the time of the traditional Mass. I had been raised in a Novus Ordo Church but I was still taught by some Marian nuns. Virtually no-one at school had much faith. They participated in all that we did but without thinking. I loved to spend quiet time in the school chapel. Unfortunately, my faith took a battering in early adulthood.

God never stopped reaching out and everytime I heard that a miracle had happened, I wanted to go and see! I longed for greater faith. Soon I discovered that God had prophets! He had not abandoned us at all. Why didn’t they teach me this at school? Or about all the miracles- such as the Miracle of Lanciano. Watching the movie of The story of Garabandal stirred my soul and made my cry with thanksgiving, love and yearning for God. First the transformation was within. But I was drawn to places where I could truly speak with God personally and deeply pray and meditate. To go apart or away from the world, helps me to draw close to God interiorly. Even Jesus would go away to a quiet and separate place to pray. He took his disciples aside, or out on a boat or up a mountain. There should be no stigma attached to going to a special place to pray. I often visited the chapel of the Poor Clare Nuns early in the morning for Eucharistic Adoration and sometimes Mass.  I was a young woman by that time and had a baby. I took her with me. I felt the graces. I read all about St Alphonsus Liguori, St Clare (and St. Collete) and I learnt a fostered devotion to the Eucharist in my heart. Depending where you went to Mass, it was not reverent and often very distracting. I found it hard to concentrate for 45 mins whereas I could spend hours at Adoration!

In about 2002, I went to my first Latin Mass because we moved house and I had been looking to attend one- having heard that they truly were reverent. I didn’t understand it all but I felt happy. The people were friendly, so was the priest; it was a small community. It was beautiful. Returning to the Novus Ordo Mass was increasingly unsatisfying. Some priests do a wonderful job of insisting on Eucharistic reverence and give good sermons as well; but not everyone seems to understand. Confession is not readily available. It is not encouraged. I cannot always attend a Latin Mass but after Bishop Schneider wrote that the faithful always have to right to receive communion kneeling and on the tongue, I sent it to my PP and insisted, despite my initial embarrassment, at only receiving Our Lord in this manner. I also was educated by God and St. Paul, about women having their heads covered in church.

The more I learn about VII, the more sad I become. I was ripped off. My education sorely lacked formation, even in a Catholic school led by many Marian nuns. Why did they change the Mass? It makes me want to cry when I realise and see how Catholics do not draw close to Our Lord anymore; they do not perceive His Presence. It seems to me that only those who frequent Confession, Mass and Adoration, and look to their own spiritual life, who pray frequently, have any Faith left. The rest have faith in man- and don’t know that’s what it is. They admire a heretic bishop because he’s such a great personality- such a nice, friendly, charismatic guy- they forget ‘yes, so is Satan!’ It breaks my heart. We do what we can but I feel a review of Vatican II needs to occur. And the TLM needs to be offered everywhere. Otherwise there will soon be nothing left. I can see where the changes are leading. God has warned us and all has occurred as He said. We love you, Jesus!! Don’t let the Church forsake your Eucharistic Presence!” (RCoM).

“Ever less importance is being given to the Holy Eucharist”

Garabandal was a Eucharistic message. Our Lady’s second message was on June 18, 1965. St. Michael the Archangel was given the task of communicating the message to Conchita. Tears rolled down Conchita’s face as she listened:

“ Since my message of October 18 has not been heeded and made known to the world, I tell you that this is the last one. Before, the cup was filling up. Now, it is brimming over. Many cardinals, many bishops, and many priests are following the way to perdition and are taking many souls with them. Ever less importance is being given to the Holy Eucharist. You must turn the wrath of God away from you by your efforts. …”

Notice the development of the message: cup filling up, now brimming over. The next sentence is the cause  –bishops and priests on road to perdition, and the worst part of all – ever less importance given to the Eucharist. And guess what? God is angry!

It is not just a matter of less importance to the Eucharist , but the message seems to say that it is accelerating – it is given “ever less” (becoming worse) So fifty years later, after the synods of 2014 and 2015, we are given “Amoris Laetitia”. Now the Eucharist can be given to unworthy souls – those in mortal sin, who have separated themselves from God, or who did not have the Faith to begin with. And we know what St Paul said  – that we would be  “guilty of the Body and Blood of Our Lord”.

This also impacted the Sacrament of Penance, because people think that they do not have to go to Confession. They can be divorced and remarried (without annulment) – and thus living in a state  mortal sin , and keep receiving Our Lord.

Then last October – the ultimate betrayal and mockery. Pagan idols were worshipped, and bowed down to, and carried in procession into a church (mockery of a Blessed Sacrament procession?) and left there for people to worship. Well we are thankful that these idols were thrown into the River Tiber. But they were also used in a Stations of Cross ceremony by those attending the Amazonian Synod. The final insult, however, occurred when they put a bowl of earth with plants on the altar of the closing Mass. It wasn’t just a floral decoration. Experts and people who recognized what was happening explained: it is part of pagan worship. The earth has blood mixed with it; the plants were red (also symbolic) – it was a pagan ritual bowl!!!!

Pagan symbols on the same altar, and in a holy, Catholic Church, where the Holy Sacrifice of the Body and blood of Our Lord was being offered? This makes me very sad. These churches would have needed to be purified and exorcised and reconsecrated and lots and lots of penance required.

The current man sitting on the chair of Peter (the False Prophet) has done his utmost to destroy any true Faith which remains. Apostasy is spreading like wildfire.

The current state of health around the world has been an excuse to hit the Catholic Church where it will do the most damage. Masses were severely curtailed. People were told by bishops, they could watch it being live-streamed from home. Slowly, Masses were again available, but severely restricted in numbers, and with many restrictions to inhibit the praise and worship that we would normally expect.(e.g. no communal singing, no gatherings of people, social distancing ( this stops us feeling like a community); in some places masks are worn by some people (even some priests). In fact, Church services were deemed to be non-essential services – when gyms, beauty parlours, liquor stores, tattoo parlours were not.

How did the whole of the western world turn into such a dictatorship?

Well Our Lady of Fatima warned us against the errors or Russia!

Warnings about the Eucharist

We were warned. Jesus told us well in advance. He sent His Mother to warn us many times – hundreds of years in advance. He never gave up. He sent more and more messengers. It seems the only one who took all this seriously was Pope Leo XIII, but they got rid of his remedy. (i.e. the St Michael’s Prayer and the prayers after Mass). They also ignored Our Lady’s instruction to release the Third Secret by 1960, because after that it would be too late. Well, Pope John XXIII ignored that instruction, and all the popes after him. Also the instruction about consecrating Russia to Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart, in communion with all the bishops.

But God is Good and He continues to care for his people. When all His messengers were ignored, He sent His last messenger. In fact, this time He gave us so much information that we would have an advantage over the enemy. He tells us what is to come. The Book of Truth comes in 5 volumes-  a LOT of the prophecies have been fulfilled.  This is another work in progress but just 2 examples: The “ousting” of Pope Benedict from the Vatican foretold years in advance; and the warning not to accept any world-wide vaccination plan because it will kill us.

Jesus also warned us about paganism in the Church – see our series of messages. (see menu item on Home Page of this site).

I thought it interesting that Abp. Vigano,  Bp. Schneider and others have started to comment on Vatican II.

Bp Schneider on the Eucharist:

“…We are witnessing a unique situation: It is for the first time in the History of the Church that the public celebration of the Eucharistic Sacrifice has been prohibited almost on a worldwide scale. Under the pretext of the (Cvd) epidemic, the inalienable right of the Christians to the public celebration of the Holy Mass has been infringed, disproportionately and unjustifiably…”

He also stated:

Bishops who not only did not care but directly prohibited their faithful the access to the sacraments, especially to the sacrament of the Holy Eucharist and the sacrament of Penance, behaved themselves as fake shepherds, who seek their own advantage….

Thus says the Lord God: Ah, shepherds of Israel who have been feeding yourselves! Should not shepherds feed the sheep? You eat the fat, you clothe yourselves with the wool, you slaughter the fat ones, but you do not feed the sheep. … Therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the Lord: Because my sheep have become a prey, and my sheep have become food for all the wild beasts, since there was no shepherd, and because my shepherds have not searched for my sheep, but the shepherds have fed themselves, and have not fed my sheep, therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the Lord: Thus says the Lord God, Behold, I am against the shepherds, and I will require my sheep at their hand and put a stop to their feeding the sheep. No longer shall the shepherds feed themselves.” (Ez. 34:2-10)”

He explains why the Eucharistic Presence is important to us:

“… If you take away the Real Presence, how will you be able to pay to His most sacred humanity the respect and honor which are its due? As Man, our Lord is present only in Heaven and in the Most Blessed Sacrament. Through the Eucharist we can draw near to the living Savior in person, and see Him and converse with Him. Without this presence, Divine worship becomes an abstraction. Through this presence we go straight to God and approach Him as during His mortal life.  …

But with the Eucharist we can actually come and adore Him like the shepherds; we can prostrate ourselves before Him like the Magi; we need no longer regret our not having been present at Bethlehem or on Calvary.

… The Church wants to have a living worship because she possesses her living Savior on earth.

About the impact of Vatican II, he states:

“…The situation of the public cessation of Holy Mass and sacramental Holy Communion during the Covid-19 epidemic is so unique and serious that one can discover behind all of this a deeper meaning. This event has come almost fifty years after the introduction of Communion in the hand (in 1969) and a radical reform of the rite of Mass (in 1969/1970) with its protestantizing elements (Offertory prayers) and its horizontal and instructional style of celebration (freestyle moments, celebration in a closed circle and towards the people). The praxis of Communion in the hand over the past fifty years has led to an unintentional and intentional desecration of the Eucharistic Body of Christ on an unprecedented scale. For over fifty years, the Body of Christ had been (mostly unintentionally) trampled by the feet of clergy and laity in Catholic churches around the world. The stealing of sacred Hosts has also been increasing at an alarming rate. The praxis of taking Holy Communion directly with one’s own hands and fingers resembles ever more the gesture of taking common food. In not a few Catholics, the practice of receiving Communion in the hand has weakened faith in the Real Presence, in trans-substantiation and in the divine and sublime character of the sacred Host. The Eucharistic presence of Christ has, over time, unconsciously become for these faithful a kind of holy bread or symbol. Now the Lord has intervened and deprived almost all the faithful of assisting at Holy Mass and sacramentally receiving Holy Communion….”

Many Popes have been prisoners in the Holy See, surrounded by Masonic Groups

“… To My Catholic Church, even though you caused torment as a result of evil sin know that I will never forsake you, although you have sinned. But know this.

Your faith in Me is not as strong as it should be. You do not love Me as you once did.

You were taught the truth by My Peter upon whose rock you were built. And what did you do?

You built thick stone walls around you.

This caused a lack of communication with those whom you needed to feed with My Body and Blood so that their souls could be nourished.

The respect required of you in administering My Most Holy Eucharist was lost when you demeaned My Presence.

When Vatican II declared new rules they were introduced by those evil Masonic forces from within your corridors.

They cunningly presented new ways to administer My Holy Eucharist which are insulting to Me.

Your so called tolerant teachings proclaimed a series of lies including the refusal to acknowledge the power of St Michael the Archangel.

He is the protector of the Church against Satan. Those forces among you knew this. This is why you stopped all prayers requesting his help before Me at the Holy Mass.

Then you perpetrated the biggest untruth that Hell was not to be feared. That it was just a metaphor. For this lie, accepted as the truth by many of God’s children, has meant the loss of billions of souls.

How you offend Me. For those humble and sacred servants among you I ask that you go back to My Teachings.

You have suffered because of the way you have offended Me.

Never think that I am blaming the many Holy Popes who have sat in the seat of Peter. Their mission has always been protected.

Many Popes have been prisoners in the Holy See surrounded by Masonic groups who do not represent God.

They hate God and have spent fifty years spreading untruths about the Mercy of God.

Their works have led to the collapse of the Catholic Church.

This was not an accident. It was deliberately and cunningly plotted in order to destroy the faith of the Church. To destroy the homage of ordinary Catholics to the One True God.

For this you will now be cast aside into the wilderness. After Pope Benedict, you will be led by Me, from the Heavens.

Oh how you have made Me weep.

I call on all of My sacred servants who know the truth to stand up and follow Me, your Jesus, to spread the truth of My Teachings in humble servitude. You must find the courage and the strength to rise from the ashes.

Above all, reject the lies which will shortly be presented to you by the False Prophet. ( * see below)

He will merge the Catholic Church with other churches, including pagan churches, to become one abomination, a one world church without a soul.

Your Jesus

Importance of Sacraments – Marriage and First Holy Communion

“…My daughter, please pray for My Vicar, Pope Benedict, for he is surrounded by masonic forces who are now making every effort to dethrone him, these evil forces have been infiltrating My Church since Vatican II and have diluted My Teachings. Many laws were passed which offend Me, especially the presentation of My Holy Eucharist by lay people. The lack of respect shown to Me and My Eternal Father, through new laws introduced to facilitate modern society has made Me cry with sadness.

The Most Holy Eucharist must be received on the tongue and not soiled by human hands. Yet this is precisely what My sacred servants have done. These laws were not passed by Me in Spirit. My sacred servants have been led down a path not in line with the Teachings of My apostles. Today My Sacraments are not taken very seriously, especially those who seek the Sacraments of Matrimony and the First Holy Communion.

The Vow of Matrimony is very serious, for remember it is a Sacrament and is made in the Presence of God the Father, yet for many it all about materialism and the exterior trappings. Many who receive the Sacrament of Matrimony do not acknowledge its importance thereafter. Many break their vows so easily. Why do they do this? Why pay lip service to this most holy union only to part soon afterwards? This is a mockery of one of the most important unions blessed by the Hand of My Eternal Father. Many people do not pay any heed of My Father’s Will that no man shall pull asunder such a union thereafter, yet many people divorce, which is a law not recognized by My Father. Divorce is an easy way to run from your responsibilities. All marriages are made in Heaven. No man can destroy a marriage without offending My Father.

First Holy Communion
Receiving My Body in the Sacrament of the Eucharist for the first time is another example as to how I Am mocked. So many parents pay no heed to the importance of their children receiving the Bread of Life. They are more concerned as to how well-dressed their children are, rather than the wonderful Gift they are receiving. This Gift will lead them to salvation. Yet the materialism, which surrounds the event, has nothing to do with their souls. For Me the saddest part is that these little children are not being told about Me. The Love I have for little children is all-encompassing. When they receive the Holy Eucharist, in the full knowledge as to what they are receiving, then their souls become pure. The more they receive Me in this way, the stronger will their faith be.

Remember, without the Sacraments, your faith becomes weak. After a time, if your soul is bereft of My special blessings, it becomes dormant. All faith in Me and My Eternal Father disappears in time with only a tiny flicker of recognition flaring up from time to time. Return to Me through the Sacraments. Show respect for the Sacraments in the way you are supposed to and you will truly feel My Presence again.

Remember, the Sacraments are there for a reason, for they are the nutrients you need for eternal life of the soul. Without them your soul will die.

I love you all. Please embrace Me properly, by respecting the Sacraments given to you as a Gift from God the Almighty Father.

Your loving Saviour
King of Mankind, Jesus Christ

Vatican II: What does Jesus say?

AM+DG

Personal Reflection:

There has been much said about Vatican II recently.
Including Abp.Vigano and Bp.Schneider.
To tell the truth, most of us are children of Vatican II to some extent.

I am old enough to remember when the changes began. I was in my mid teens. In the beginning, all that changed was to say the Our Father in the vernacular.

The changes were small and almost imperceptible. We trusted our priests and bishops and thought that they would not lead us astray.

By the 1980’s my children were involved in liturgical dance; and the Offertory Procession was established together with the Offertory Prayers/Petitions.

But it didn’t stop there! In 1990’s, we had a “children’s liturgy” on Sundays. Quite often the children were invited to stand around the altar during the Offertory. But one Sunday, this particular (Assistant) priest invited the children up onto the altar during the Eucharistic prayer. They stood on either side of him, and he gave one the Ciborium to hold, and another the Chalice. I was horrified! This same priest would include topics such as “women in the church” in his homilies!

I, myself, was a Eucharistic Minister, but I eventually started to do some serious thinking, as I was bombarded with new inventions decades after it had all begun. The internet was not yet freely available like today, but I started to doubt whether I should continue as a Eucharistic Minister. I tried to hide behind people in the congregation, but they would see me and ask me up.

At the same time, my brother, who was 10 years older than me, and who was an Acolyte in another parish was being traumatized by the amount of “Fragments” he would find on the altar, and on the floor after Mass.

We went searching. We thought the Eastern Rite Masses might be still unadulterated. We went to the Melkite Mass, the Maronite Mass etc. We had no idea that the Latin Mass still existed. We found it by God’s Providence– it was still new in this area.

We have been back “home” now for nearly 20 years. The first time we went, I felt right at home – like I had never left. I was worried about my children ( in their twenties at the time) , but they took to it like a duck to water.

All the changes were promoted as being “in the spirit of Vatican II”. (Communion in the hand, Communion standing, bowing instead of genuflecting, Priests were now only “presiders”, Tabernacle moved from centre of the Church, High altars dismantled and replaced by a table…..).

In the nineties, we still genuflected, we still knelt for Communion, people respected silence in the church. Now, I notice that many don’t genuflect, or they genuflect to an empty space (not to the tabernacle which is often somewhere else); it is a gossip session as people wait for Mass.

The changes, which were “Vatican II inspired”,  were all about the Eucharist which is ‘The source and the  summit of the Catholic Faith”.  To destroy the Catholic Faith, ( aim of the Masons) they had to destroy the Eucharist first. The changes to the Mass  itself watered down the Truth of the Sacrifice of the Mass – not just changing and eliminating prayers, but the rubrics involved. Then the High altar was taken away, the altar rail removed, the tabernacle in many cases moved, Communion in the hand and standing, and given not by the consecrated hands of the priest, but by lay ministers. The music changed and many beautiful hymns were replaced by what just sound like “songs”. Take away all this, and you eliminate the “Mystery” and the whole meaning of ‘sacrifice’. Faith slowly was watered down. I, sadly, was part of it all, and didn’t see what was happening.

Vatican II was not meant to be a Doctrinal Council – it was meant to be “pastoral”. The Amazon synod was supposedly a “pastoral” one. It seems to me that Vatican II was all about the Eucharist.

It is repeatedly asserted that Doctrine has not changed, but we can see that  beliefs, Faith and practice certainly have. Add to this a pope and bishops who do not shepherd their flocks and who sprout heresies and blasphemies every other day and who “accompany” people on their “journey”… The modernists (on purpose) -pre-planned and hijacked Vatican II. It was the beginning of a great deceit – one which is only just now coming to a climax. In fact, the Holy Sacrifice became desecrated by paganism  (Pachamama)- by the very people who should be our shepherds! It’s not over yet. The ‘Abomination of Desolation” has yet to be presented in its evil entirety.

And there are still people who don’t see!!

It makes me so sad, and want to weep. How did it come to this?

We were all warned against Modernism by Popes over a hundred years ago.

Heavenly Messages

Fatima:

The visions of Fatima have a Eucharistic theme. In the first apparition, the Angel taught the children the prayer:

My God, I believe, I adore, I hope, and I love You. I ask pardon for those who do not believe, do not adore, do not hope, and do not love You.”

“The third and final apparition of the Angel is explicitly Eucharistic. In fact, in this apparition, the angel gave Jacinta, Francisco, and Lucia their first Holy Communion. The Angel gave the Eucharist to the children under both species. It is worthwhile to ponder the entire description of the marvelous event from the diary of Sr. Lucia:

After we had repeated this prayer, I do not know how many times we saw shining over us a strange light. We lifted our heads to see what was happening. The Angel was holding in his left hand a chalice and over it, in the air, was a host from which drops of blood fell into the chalice. The Angel leaves the chalice in the air, kneels near us and tells us to repeat three times:

“‘Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, I adore You profoundly, and I offer You the Most Precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in all the tabernacles of the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges and indifferences by which He is offended. And by the infinite merits of His Most Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg the conversion of poor sinners.’

See: https://adoremus.org/2017/07/05/the-mother-of-our-love-for-christ-our-lady-of-fatima-and-the-holy-eucharist/

Garabandal:

    • Many Cardinals, many Bishops, and many Priests are on the path of perdition and they take many souls with them. To the Eucharist, there is given less and less importance.”
Here also, the Eucharist was given to the seer, young Conchita, by an angel- in a visible miraculous manifestation. And more than this, the effect it had on those who witnessed this prophesied miracle, left no doubt of its heavenly nature.

Also the first message given on October 18th, 1961 states:

    • “We must make many sacrifices, perform much penance, and visit the Blessed Sacrament frequently.

Our Blessed Mother sadly explains how the Truth has been suppressed for “many decades”

(I was thinking in my mind – 5 decades perhaps – since Vatican II?)

Message 1057: 23 February 2014 @ 4:28pm

Mother of Salvation: All references to Hell have been abolished and man has been misled into a false sense of security

“My child, as long as Satan’s reign exists, on Earth, the Truth will always be suppressed.

Since my Son’s death on the Cross, every attempt to spread His Word has been thwarted. And, since Christianity spread, many cracks appeared and the Doctrine dictated by my Son, Jesus Christ, through His disciples, was adapted. The Truth has always been tampered with, but despite this, the Word of God still remains alive in the world and the Presence of my Son, through the Holy Eucharist, has been maintained.

The Truth, regarding the existence of Satan and the reality of Hell, has been suppressed for many decades and this has had a detrimental effect on the salvation of humanity. All references to Hell have been abolished and man has been misled into a false sense of security. So now, today, few people believe in the existence of the devil or the abyss of Hell. This lie has been the scourge of humanity and, as a result, many souls have been lost, because Hell is denied. Mortal sin is no longer deemed to be a reality and so no attempt is made to avoid it. Those who serve my Son, Jesus Christ, in His Churches have a duty to prepare souls, so that they are fit to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.

Hell can be avoided, through an understanding of the consequences of mortal sin, yet not one word is mentioned of it. Souls are lost because they are never instructed properly how to avoid sin and seek repentance. To become worthy to enter my Son’s Kingdom, you must spend time living your lives, according to the Word of God. Please do not ignore the Truth, for if you do, you will be lost.

Pray, pray, pray that humanity will accept the existence of Satan, because until they do, they will never truly accept my Son’s Promise of Redemption.

Your beloved Mother

Mother of Salvation”

Chastisement? Trial? Reacting to gain Spiritual Fruits.

AM+DG

This very contagious virus is a concern to us physically, but it has hit us with full force where it really hurts – in our hearts and in our souls. Our churches are closed, we have been banned from the Mass and the Sacraments. Bishop Athanasius Schneider March 19, 2020  quoted from Romans 5:3 “We glory in tribulations” .

This phrase sums it all up – because suddenly Catholics everywhere  (and other Christians) suddenly have a renewed fervour and thirst for Our Lord . Bp. Schneider, in his article tells us

“Millions of Catholics in the so-called free Western world will, in the coming weeks or even months, and especially during Holy Week and Easter, the culmination of the entire liturgical year, be deprived of any public acts of worship due to both civic and ecclesiastical reaction to the outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19). The most painful and distressing of these is the deprivation of Holy Mass and sacramental Holy Communion.”

He refers to the denial of fundamental human rights of freedom of movement, freedom of assembly, and freedom of opinion” and to the  “sanitary dictatorship,” and “political dictatorship” which has enveloped the world.

Persecution is nothing new in the Church. Bp. Schneider says:

“The current situation of the prohibition of public worship in Rome brings the Church back to the time of an analogous prohibition issued by the pagan Roman emperors in the first centuries.”

Bp. Schneider tells us how we should react.

  • Firstly, we accept that it is a trial from Divine Providence: it is in response to the  ” current unprecedented crisis of the Church.”
  • God uses now the merciless world “sanitary dictatorshipto purify the Church,  … .” The powers of this world have now forcibly separated the faithful from their shepherds. The clergy is ordered by governments to celebrate liturgy without the people.”
  • By thispurifying divine intervention , by being deprived of the Eucharistic Sacrifice, we may come “to see and appreciate its value more deeply”.
  • He tells us that weshould not yield to frustration or melancholy”. That we  “should accept this trial as an occasion of abundant graces...”
  • We are in the catacombs of the underground Church, which hopefully, “will produce the new spiritual fruits of confessors of faith and of holiness.”

What to do if we can’t attend Holy Mass?

Catholic parents should gather their families in their homes:

  • They could assist in their homes at a Holy Mass broadcast on television or the internet,

or

  • Dedicate a holy hour of prayers to sanctify the Day of the Lord and to unite themselves spiritually with the Holy Masses celebrated by priests behind closed doors .

Suggested prayers by Bp. Schneider to say at home with the family:

          • Prayer of the Rosary,
          • Reading of the Sunday Gospel,
          • Act of Contrition,
          • act of Spiritual Communion,
          • Litany,
          • Prayer for all who suffer and die,
          • Prayer for all who are persecuted,
          • Prayer for the pope and the priests,
          • prayer for the end of the current physical and spiritual epidemic.
          • The Stations of the Cross on Fridays of Lent.
          •   “…on Sundays, parents could gather their children in the afternoon or in the evening to read to them from the Lives of the Saints, especially those stories drawn from times of persecution of the Church.

Words of God to”  strengthen all Catholics who are currently suffering from being deprived of the Holy Mass and Holy Communion”:

“Do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed.” (1 Peter 4: 12–13)

The Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” (2 Cor. 1:3–4)

“That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perishes, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ” (1 Peter 1:6–7).

In the time of a cruel persecution of the Church, St. Cyprian of Carthage (+258) gave the following edifying teaching on the value of patience:

It is patience which firmly fortifies the foundations of our faith. It is this which lifts up on high the increase of our hope. It is this which directs our doing, that we may hold fast the way of Christ while we walk by His patience. How great is the Lord Jesus, and how great is His patience, that He who is adored in heaven is not yet avenged on earth! Let us, beloved brethren, consider His patience in our persecutions and sufferings; let us give an obedience full of expectation to His advent” (De patientia, 20; 24)

A sample of prayers for the Sunday domestic holy hour

(from Bp. Schneider)

The Perfect Act of Contrition:

“Oh my God! I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee and I detest all my sins because I dread the loss of Heaven and the pains of Hell; But most of all because I have offended Thee, My God, Who art all-good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of Thy grace, To confess my sins, to do penance, And to amend my life. Amen.”                   (Baltimore Catechism)

Prayer for making a Spiritual Communion:

“At Thy feet, O my Jesus, I prostrate myself, and I offer Thee the repentance of my contrite heart, which is humbled in its nothingness and in Thy holy presence. I adore Thee in the Sacrament of Thy love, the ineffable Eucharist. I desire to receive Thee into the poor dwelling that my heart offers Thee. While waiting for the happiness of sacramental Communion, I wish to possess Thee in spirit. Come to me, O my Jesus, since I, for my part, am coming to Thee! May thy love embrace my whole being in life and in death. I believe in Thee, I hope in Thee, I love Thee. Amen”

Prayers of the Angel of Fatima:

“My God, I believe, I adore, I trust, and I love Thee! I ask pardon for those who do not believe, do not adore, do not trust and do not love Thee. Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, I adore Thee profoundly. I offer Thee the Most Precious Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in all the tabernacles of the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges, and indifference by which He is offended. And through the infinite merit of His Most Sacred Heart, and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg of Thee the conversion of poor sinners. Amen.”

The Universal Prayer (attributed to Pope Clement XI)

Lord, I believe in you: increase my faith. I trust in you: strengthen my trust. I love you: let me love you more and more. I am sorry for my sins: deepen my sorrow. I worship you as my first beginning, I long for you as my last end, I praise you as my constant helper, and call on you as my loving protector.

Guide me by your wisdom, correct me with your justice, comfort me with your mercy, protect me with your power. I offer you, Lord, my thoughts: to be fixed on you; my words: to have you for their theme; my actions: to reflect my love for you; my sufferings: to be endured for your greater glory. I want to do what you ask of me: In the way you ask, for as long as you ask, because you ask it. Lord, enlighten my understanding, strengthen my will, purify my heart, and make me holy. Help me to repent of my past sins and to resist temptation in the future. Help me to rise above my human weaknesses and to grow stronger as a Christian.

Let me love you, my Lord and my God, and see myself as I really am: a pilgrim in this world, a Christian called to respect and love all whose lives I touch, those under my authority, my friends and my enemies. Help me to conquer anger with gentleness, greed by generosity, apathy by fervor. Help me to forget myself and reach out toward others. Make me prudent in planning, courageous in taking risks. Make me patient in suffering, unassuming in prosperity.

Keep me, Lord, attentive at prayer, temperate in food and drink, diligent in my work, firm in my good intentions. Let my conscience be clear, my conduct without fault, my speech blameless, my life well-ordered. Put me on guard against my human weaknesses. Let me cherish your love for me,

Keep your law, and come at last to your salvation. Teach me to realize that this world is passing, that my true future is the happiness of heaven, that life on earth is short, and the life to come eternal. Help me to prepare for death with a proper fear of judgment, but a greater trust in your goodness. Lead me safely through death to the endless joy of heaven. Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Hymn and prayer to Our Lady, the star of heaven

The Star of heaven, who breastfed the Lord, extirpated the plague planted by the first parent of men.

This star may now deign to restrain the stars who with their wars kill the people with the mortal cruel ulcer.

O most pious star of the sea, deliver us from the plague. Hear us, o Lady, for your Son, who denies nothing to you, honors you. O Jesus, save us, for whom your Virgin Mother prays!

    1. In all our tribulations and anguishes,
    2. Succour us, o most pious Virgin Mary.

Let us pray. God of mercy, God of love, God of forgiveness, you have compassion over the affliction of your people and you said to the Angel who was striking your people: Stay your hand out of love of that glorious Star, at whose precious breasts you sweetly sucked to remedy the poison of our trespasses. Grant the help of your grace and we shall be surely and mercifully delivered from any plague, of unprepared death and of any perditious attack. Through you, Jesus Christ, the King of Glory, the Savior of the world, who lives and reigns forever. Amen.

Stop the Synod: Fasting and Prayer – Request from Card Burke and Bp. Schneider

AM+DG

Stop the Synod (Part 2)

Cardinal Raymond Burke and Bishop Athanasius Schneider have called on the faithful to engage in a crusade of prayer and fasting for forty days.

Reason given:   To prevent “serious theological errors and heresies in the Amazon Synod’s working document from being approved!

This starts tomorrow!!!

Begins :        September 17

Ends:           October 26.

Suggested format:     One decade of the Rosary daily

                                                                             Fast one day per week.

The six errors are:

  • an implicit pantheism identifying God with nature and the universe
  • the notion that paganism is a source of Divine Revelation and an alternative pathway to salvation
  • the idea that natives already received divine revelation and that the Church in the Amazon needs a missionary and pastoral “conversion”
  • granting ministries to women and turning married local chieftains into second-class priests
  • considering man as a mere link in nature’s ecological chain and economic development as an aggression against ‘Mother Earth’
  • calling for an “integral ecological conversion” which includes the adoption of the collective social model of natives where individual personality and freedom are undermined.

The Smoke on the horizon Part 2: Abortion Extremism and more

AM+DG

Abortion Extremism threatening NSW, Australia

We are now experiencing one of those fiery attacks.

Lets be honest; all abortion is evil and is extremist. It kills an innocent life for daring to exist. But the latest plot by the left wing politicians to try to push through a law which legalizes killing pre-born babies and deprives those born, (if unwanted and intended for abortion) of care and medical assistance must make even the average un-churched Australian man, woman or teenager shudder. They shudder because they know instinctively its evil; its not right; because they know that a foetus looks like a baby- because it is actually a baby (an innocent, alive, human child) and that the no-one should kill an innocent person. This is the law of God written on their hearts. This is what their conscience would convict them of, whether or not they want to heed it.

These politicians would not participate in an act like that, for the most part I assume, themselves or in person. I think they would find it hard to watch. And most people when faced with the facts could not say that they agree with late term abortion- for any reason, which is what this law is about. Not that the politicians care what their constituents think- or their conscience. In this case, this unpopular law has come out of nowhere and is trying to be imposed on Australians as a just law. Where is the justice in any of this?! How did this happen?

Here, in this state (NSW Australia) just like many other places around the world, we are facing the smoke on the horizon and the fire threatening us. We are facing a terrible extreme abortion law being imposed on us. It was suddenly announced by an Independent Member of Parliament without any announcement being made or warning in the media – obviously so that we had no time to plan a strategy to fight. We already fought against a similar law 2 years ago – but then we had time to fight and Archbishop Anthony Fisher within a week had speakers at every Mass in every parish in the diocese together with a petition to sign. MP’s were shocked to see the record number of petitions and retreated. But we knew they would try again.

The methodology this time was cunning – it was called a law to ‘decriminalize abortion’ in this state. But horrendous new content was added – abortion up till birth, no rights for doctors who object – they would be compelled by law to refer the person requesting abortion to another doctor and much more. As well as just decriminalising the law as it stands, it has many amendments which make it all the more horrific.

There wasn’t much time, but some petitions were hastily organized in some parishes – St Mary’s Cathedral had 65 hours Devotion (Eucharistic Adoration) – day and night during the days the bill was being debated; other parishes had Adoration or all-night vigils of Eucharistic Adoration or 40 hours’ Devotion. People rallied outside Parliament House. The Catholic, Anglican and Orthodox bishops united in the fight. But the enemy still got the bill through the Lower House. There was an unholy roar and cheer when the bill was accepted.

We are saddened but not deflated. The fight is not over. It still has to pass through the Upper House.

The very next day, other Christian groups – the Australian Family Coalition, the Australian Christian Lobby, and others immediately started back on the warpath with petitions and prayer campaigns etc. Today many parishes were collecting and signing new petitions for the upper house. Our Christian lobby groups have given us a link to formally object to items in the proposed law (but you need to read the bill and have arguments which they cannot object to). So social media is alive with the link for submissions. We only, once again, have a week before it goes before the Upper house. We are regrouping and re-organising.

Thank God for our Christian brethren, and Archbishop Anthony fisher who is doing his bit. Please, wherever you are in the world, join us in prayer because we do pray for you whenever we are aware of some evil that is trying to be enforced upon God’s people. It is possible that one day we will stand before God and He will ask, “What did you do?”…Can anything we ever do be too much when speaking on behalf of innocent souls? We need to see these little children as God’s own– and do all we can. When evil is engulfing, we must not fall asleep! Stand at the ready!

On a bigger scale: The Amazonian synod

The upcoming Pan-Amazonian synod in October will herald in the biggest apostasy the world has ever seen. After this, once the blasphemies, heresies and twisted teachings and rituals are inflicted upon us, the fire of hell will be well and truly raging. Read some of the warnings from our much esteemed Cardinals and bishops:

Conclusion:

Events such as these will increase all over the world. The prince of darkness knows his days are numbered so the onslaught is horrific. He will try to drag as many as possible with him while he still can.

Christ promised us that “the gates of hell will not prevail” against the Church, but we have to prove our worth – we have to fight for Christ and His Truth.

There is smoke on the horizon, the fires of hell are approaching.

We have to be awake, unite with others, pray for each other, pray for courage and discernment and spread God’s Word no matter what the cost. Please pray for us, as we continue to pray for you, wherever in the world you are. The early Christians had hundreds of years of persecution. We have to stand together to be strong!

We are Christ’s Remnant army.

All Christians must unite to fight this battle!
